Assistant Manager - Manufacturing Engineering

Job Description

  • Plan the day-to-day execution and technical support for the introduction of processes for new product development and existing manufacturing Process
  • Support efforts to consistently improve product and process quality
  • This role is recognized as a key manufacturing technology specialist within their organization
  • Functions with some autonomy but guided by established policies or review of end results
  • The job allows modification of procedures and practices covering work as long as the end results meet standards of acceptability
Primary Responsibilities include:
  • As a Manufacturing Process Engineer- Fixtures Tools support in process development prototype builds training New product development managing cost out programs .
  • Spearhead Change management Process improvement with Safety Mindset.
  • Responsible for on time release of PR/PO and availability of capex/opex items managing the Consumable Spend for the Business upto $500K.
  • Responsible for driving ECN/PCN Change Management.
  • Responsible for conducting Tool Trials Fixture Prove outs during NPI.
  • Troubleshooting of Cutting tools/ Fixtures to enhance an existing process and to drive productivity.
  • Manage Product CPC Process CT.
  • Develop project plans and execute to meet plan and milestone targets.
  • Identify and drive various cost out projects for the COE.
  • Own NC Management for the Business as per AS 9100D Standards.
  • Work with MFG Operations to simplify production lines productivity.
This is a key technical cross functional team member position with interaction among engineering manufacturing sourcing and the supplier base that will drive cross-functional execution to exceed milestone and program targets for NPIs.
Qualifications/Requirements:
  • Bachelor degree in engineering Preferably Mechanical Engineering.
  • 2-4 years Experience in Shop operations Manufacturing Engineering.
  • Ability to identify/track metrics and drive continuous improvement.
  • Proficient in data analytics.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills ability to clearly communicate to internal/external customers and suppliers
  • Ability to interface with varied levels from Operators to Plant Management.
  • Relevant years of experience in CNC machining of super Alloys Cast iron.
  • Expert in drawing reading GDT.
  • Hands on experience in Mazatrol and Siemens Control Systems will be added advantage.
  • Experience in fixture design using CAD.
  • Hands on experience on Oracle ERP R12 with PR PO and BOM module.
