Position Summary

The incumbent is responsible for achieving the fundraising targets from corporate donors, in alignment with the fundraising strategy. The role focusses on gathering business intelligence, including donor and competitor information to identify and then, pursue new funding opportunities aligned with the organisation's geographic and thematic priorities and position the organisation among potential donors as the leading child rights organization in India. The role also helps deliver on account management strategies for current and new key accounts, with a focus on identifying opportunities, positioning for and responding to those, and securing funds.

Scope of the role

  • Scope: The organisation partners with institutional and corporate donors raise fund for various projects targeting the
  • underprivileged children. This role actively contributes to forge and nurture partnerships in this context.
  • Reports to: Deputy Director - Partnerships
  • Staff reporting to this post: Individual contributor role
  • Budget Responsibilities: No
  • Role Dimensions: The role is expected to work close with following stakeholders
  • o Internal Stakeholders (collaborates with): Programme Implementation Units, Programme Support,
  • Finance and Award Management
  • o External stakeholders: Relevant donors, SCI member countries, peer organizations at state and
  • national level
  • Context: Development and Humanitarian

Responsibilites

  • Achieve annual fund raising targets (multiyear grants) by identifying, approaching and procuring funds from
  • potential donors.
  • Maintain and strengthen existing donor relationship , lead donor servicing and proactively pursue for the
  • renewal /scale up of existing grants
  • Map, assess, build relationships with, and pursue new domestic donor opportunities in alignment with the
  • strategy.
  • Develop presentations and customized collateral for prospective partners/donors.
  • Facilitate the proposal development process.
  • Serve as a bridge between external donors / stakeholders and internal teams. Facilitate the donor visits to project areas and participation of project team in donor meetings/events
  • Utilize available tools for fundraising and participate in capacity building initiatives.
  • Support grant negotiations as needed and work with Award Management to ensure orientation and handover to Programme Operations, Programme Support, and Finance, Awards functions of new grants and clear understanding of accountabilities for trouble-shooting and addressing implementation issues.
  • Identify events, conferences and speaking engagements that raise the visibility of organisation and its
  • work among the potential donors.
  • Identify other innovative ways of fundraising particularly through cause-related marketing, workplace giving,
  • and employee engagement partnerships.
  • Readiness to work in irregular hours during events, emergency response etc. as and when required.

Experience And Skills

  • 5 to 9 years of relevant experience in a competitive market environment with skills set to build new business relationships with potential clients
  • Experience in development sector is desirable
