This role is an excellent opportunity to gain a broad understanding of financial controllership and its role in FIL s Financial Services business. The role will be primarily around handling accounting and monthly reporting. The successful applicant will be exposed to USGAAP based accounting and would be required to demonstrate flexibility and enthusiasm towards ad hoc queries and analysis and work with various teams like operations, business finance, treasury.
Key responsibilities for the role are as follows:
- Responsible for performing financial accounting, Board reporting, dashboard, year-end financial statements, group & statutory audits, change management, forecast, etc for Bermuda entity FIL Distributors.
- Managing On-Going Commission accruals related to Off-Shore SICAVs fund range right from booking, trend analysis and reconciling the same with payments for entity FFML.
- Perform various transferring pricing calculations and booking the same in FIL Distributors and FIL books.
- Review and submission of Fund expense invoices.
- Accounting of recharged invoices and reclassification of non-legitimate fund expenses.
- Prepare reconciliation of fund expenses with recharged invoices.
- Prepare periodic balance sheet reconciliations on ARCS, explanation of monthly and quarterly variances, providing commentaries to stakeholders.
- Responsible for maintaining up to date procedure documentation including transfer pricing arrangements.
- Maintain a high level of risk awareness and develop a sound control environment to enable risk mitigation.
- Work closely with the global financial control, operations and treasury team.
- Dealing with ad-hoc queries from stakeholders and finance community. This will include assisting with handling internal reporting and other financial analysis.
- Work on key initiatives based on business requirements. Identify, design and implement process improvement initiatives for increased efficiency.
- Assisting in business plans and strategies which are aligned with the organisational as we'll as CFO goals.
- Strong contributor for reporting under US GAAP and ensure FIL s internal accounting policies are adhered too.
Experience and Skills Required
Technical
- Qualified chartered Accountant with 4-6 years post qualification experience with Accounting / Audit / Assurance background
- Strong Microsoft Excel alongside good IT skills particularly Outlook, Word & PowerPoint.
- Knowledge of HFM Oracle Fusion (CFP) and Alteryx would be an advantage.
