Job Title: Assistant Manager Export Import
Location: Mumbai

Job Summary:
The Assistant Manager EXIM is responsible for managing and overseeing export and import operations, ensuring compliance with government regulations, optimizing logistics processes, and maintaining effective communication with stakeholders to support business objectives.
IMPORT:
- Understand the Order Planning from Strategic / Sourcing Team and send request for Quotation to respective Suppliers.
- Post checking and negotiations on Quotations finalize same. (Which Includes: Finalizing Shipping terms / Payment Terms / Rates / Delivery Time).
- Follow-up with suppliers on the Production Status of confirmed Contracts/PI.
- On prior confirmation from Suppliers about the Goods readiness date. Coordinate with Freight Forwarders Agent to release the booking of container to Suppliers in order Goods can be loaded on time. (This includes arrange self-inspection of goods, check proper Packaging and shipping Marks, Loading, logistics arrangement, scheduling shipments for on-time delivery of product.)
- Arranging Freight Forwarders includes checking with the best quotation to achieve timely shipments at Economical cost by negotiation on freight and shipping line charges with reputed shipping lines, get the minimum Transit days with maximum Detention free days.
- Post Goods loaded on Vessel. Track shipment online until the container reach the destination PORT (NHAVA SHEVA).
- Weekly (Monday) updates to Strategic / Sourcing Team on transit goods status in order Qty can be allocated to Sales Teams.
- Daily in touch with Agents / Service providers and resolve any discrepancies from Customs / CFS / Shipping line etc.
- Communicate shipment delays to Strategic / Sourcing Team, Sales managers and Customer Service.
- Once Shipment reaches the Destination Port send IGM details to CHA and co-ordinate with them to clear the shipment and provide the related documents for smooth clearance and earliest delivery of goods to our warehouse.
EXPORT:
- Check the PURCHASE ORDER received from Export Team. (This includes checking the value of Goods/Rates, Shipping Terms, Payment terms, Special requirement if any).
- Post Order is confirmed share final Proforma Invoice with Export team.
- Coordinate with CHA to file Shipping Bill and arrange pick up of Goods from Warehouse, Post Customs Clearance on port handover the Goods to final Freight forwarder as per agreed Shipping Terms.
- Coordinate with Customer Freight Forwarder Agents for loading goods on Time.
- Preparation and arrangement of original Shipping Documents and Courier the same to Customers for smooth clearance of Goods in Overseas PORT.
FINANCE & BANKING:
- Pre-information to Finance team on upcoming payments of Overseas Suppliers, Custom Duties and Taxes or any other DUE's related to Import and Export, Freight forwarders, CHA, Advisors.
- Coordination with Bank towards smooth processing of payments to Overseas Suppliers and receipt of payments from Overseas Customers.
- Coordination with Financial advisors for MEIS SCRIPTS / RODTEP Transfer & Due diligence reports of Suppliers as per needs.
- Ensure all PO's and SKU for new orders are created in System (NAVISION).
- Preparation for applying of Refund of Custom duty drawback, MEIS, RODtep and Secondary additional Duty in Customs if charged and follow up for same.
- Keep well informed the Warehouse Team about arriving & dispatched of IMPORT-EXPORT Goods.
Requirement:
- Bachelor's degree in International Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- 3-5 years of experience in EXIM operations, ideally within the home appliances or consumer goods industry.
- In-depth knowledge of international trade laws, customs processes, and export/import documentation.
- Experience working with freight forwarders, customs brokers, and logistics providers.
Key Skills:
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Attention to detail with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel, and experience with EXIM software/tools.
