We are looking for an experienced Optometrist, who has the drive and positivity to be part of Outreach content development training programs (Base of Pyramid) that is part of our inclusive business 2.5 NVG across India.

Your Role

Reporting to the Head of BoP Innovation and Head of Sustainable Programming, India; you will collaborate closely with internal teams, external stakeholders and be part of global initiatives if needed.

Main responsibilities:

• Support on-ground activities across Sustainable Programming and OneSight EssilorLuxottica Foundation
• Technical support to creation and testing of ophthalmic related tools and products
• Standardize training curriculum and optimize training process across all countries
• Support country growth through innovation related activities
• Bridge between R&D and Mission on innovation-related matters, and bridge between Leonardo and Mission on training curriculum
• Individuals must be excellent at coordinating with multiple stakeholders, focusing on the details while being able to undertake big picture challenges.

Typical success factors include the number of outreach, number of adoption to the program, number of people who require glasses and got themselves a pair of glasses through our initiatives.

Challenges would include the need to handle multiple stakeholders, and the limitations of local infrastructure which may affect the adoption of the program / innovation.

AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITIES AND RELATED ACTIVITIES:

• Technical training and curriculum development: understand the needs and develop relevant supporting materials for each market. Gatekeeper for Mission-related training materials, ensure alignment across all entities.
• Technological assessment: evaluate, recommend and implement new technologies (relevant in the field of refractive error) that will enhance the efficiency of our rural optical entrepreneurs and vision screening clinics to reach out to more people in need of vision care.
• Program execution: support program execution of the ground and scale up globally
• Manage communication: timely reporting and communication to relevant stakeholders ensuring expectations and alignment are met

NETWORK OF INTERACTION:

INTERNAL : This role will be working closely with colleagues from across the Sustainable Programming, the OneSight EssilorLuxottica Foundation countries (e.g. Cambodia, Indonesia, Vietnam, Thailand, India, Bangladesh, Africa and Latam regions) and the Center of Innovation & Technology and the Leonardo team.

EXTERNAL : This role will be managing multiple external stakeholders

TECHNICAL SKILLS - PORTRAIT OF A PERFECT CANDIDATE

Degree or Master in Optometry

At least 5 to 10 years of experience in Optometry and Retail. Those with training and curriculum development experience will be preferred.

Experience in emerging markets, base of pyramid and/or development sector (NGO) will be a bonus

LANGUAGES:

Proficient in English and multilingual is preferred.
