Job Description

About the Position

This position shall be responsible for all Financial and Accounting transactions of Daramic India. Assistant Manager Accounts shall handle all transactions related Bank reconciliation, bank transactions, Cost control, Statutory Audit, Income Tax, Forecasting and support Finance Director in all accounts related activities for the region.

Assistant Manager Accounts shall have the authority to enforce timelines in order to comply with relevant laws and deadlines. Shall also have the authority to raise questions as relevant.

Responsibilities

Safety:

  • Understand the importance of conformance with the regard to ES&H systems and procedures
  • Understand the environmental impacts associated with their work activities and the environmental benefits of improved personal performance.
  • Understand the potential consequences of deviation from specified operating procedures.
  • Immediately report any accidents and release to the Supervisor.
  • Recognize that adhering to job responsibilities and procedures regarding environmental, health and safety is a condition of employment
  • Comply with all environmental, safety, and health rules, policies, and programs established by the company to the extent of training received.

Accountability, Communication, Expectations:

  • Timely closure of monthly, quarterly and yearly schedules: complete IC reconciliation, entries of unrealized to be accounted, supervise closure of all accounting accruals / provisions and unbilled vendor invoices
  • IGAAP Statutory audits, transfer pricing, Sox audit
  • Ensure timely and accurate vendor payments
  • Provide support for cost reduction and to work closely with plant accounts team for cost reduction
  • Reconciliation of intercompany A/c by updating the transactions regularly
  • Periodical supervision of various general ledger A/cs in tally and reconcile the transactions
  • Preparation of TDS and filed with in stipulated time
  • Account bills from customs clearing agents/shipping agents link to consignment received basis and maintain accuracy in cost of raw material.
  • Co-ordinate with internal and statutory auditors/consultants to enable to finalize the financial reports within the time limit
  • Completion of TB every month end within time limit & ensure that all the entries passed to enable to upload MIS at share point
  • Customs CHA: Initiate process of availing cenvat credit on input services billed by liner for imports, Import Bill clearance payment from Bank
  • General Insurance: Ensure renewal of all insurance policies in time and process claims
  • Ensure timely bank payments as per Company's delegation of Authority limits.
  • Income Tax Compliance: Ensure that quarterly Advance Tax is calculated and paid on a timely basis; responsible for Annual Income Tax Audit and regular income tax assessments.
  • Transfer Price Compliance: Ensure that Transfer Price related compliances are adhered to including the Annual Certification and yearly assessment process
  • Online registration, filing of CE, ST return, Banking payment of Direct & Indirect Taxes & third-party transfer

Legal and statutory compliances:

  • Ensure that all statutory requirements of the organization are met including Corporate Social Responsibility, Withholding Payments (CPP, EI), Income Tax, Goods and Services Tax
  • Develop, implement, and ensure compliance with internal financial and accounting policies and procedures

Skills:

  • System Knowledge: Tally, ERP Accounting software AX, MS Office, Proficiency in Excel
  • Functional: Knowledge about generally accepted accounting and internal control principles, Knowledge of Indian provincial legislation
  • Collaboration: Work closely with Sales & Marketing/Operations/HR/Corporate
  • Leadership: Assertive, Persuasive, People oriented
  • Results Driven: strong analytical, problem solving and decision making skills
  • Technology: Strong technology orientation (updated)

Education and Experience

Education: Qualified CA with 3 to 5 yrs of experience or Qualified ICWAI with 5 + yrs of experience

Professional experience: Prior supervisory experience in the financial reporting/general ledger area. Experience working in a manufacturing organization preferred.

Must be proficient in Tally / Excel and able to thrive in a fast-paced setting. Experience automated accounting system a plus. Must have strong experience with Microsoft Excel, Access and Word.
