The Assistant Food and Beverage Manager is a key member of the Food and Beverage department responsible for assisting the Food and Beverage Manager/ EAM in overseeing the daily operations of the dining outlets, bars, and banquet services of hotel. As Assistant F&B Manager you play a vital part in ensuring exceptional guest experiences, efficient service delivery, and the achievement of revenue and service quality goals. The Assistant Food and Beverage Manager is expected to assist in creating a memorable dining experience for guests, maintaining high standards of service quality, and contributing to the overall success of the Food and Beverage department.
Key Responsibilities
- Operations Management:
- Collaborate with the Food and Beverage Manager to plan and coordinate daily restaurant, bar, and banquet operations.
- Assist in supervising staff to ensure efficient and effective service.
- Ensure that all dining areas and bars are properly set up and maintained to meet quality and cleanliness standards.
- Oversee daily inventory control, including stock levels and wastage reduction.
- Staff Supervision and Training:
- Assist in recruiting, training, and supervising restaurant and bar staff.
- Conduct staff meetings, provide ongoing coaching, and facilitate professional development.
- Ensure staff adherence to service standards and enforce company policies and procedures.
- Guest Satisfaction:
- Monitor guest feedback and address concerns or issues promptly and professionally.
- Work to enhance the overall dining and beverage experience by implementing service improvements and innovations.
- Ensure guest preferences and special requests are accommodated whenever possible.
- Financial Management:
- Assist in budget preparation and cost control efforts.
- Monitor revenue and expenses, analyze financial reports, and implement strategies to meet or exceed targets.
- Oversee billing accuracy and payment processing.
- Menu and Beverage Management:
- Collaborate with the culinary team to plan and update menus based on seasonality, market trends, and guest feedback.
- Maintain knowledge of food and beverage offerings and suggest appropriate pairings to guests.
- Manage inventory of beverages and recommend changes to the beverage menu as needed.
- Health and Safety:
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Conduct regular safety training for staff.
- Investigate and report accidents or incidents as per company policies.
- Event Coordination:
- Assist in the planning and execution of special events, including banquets, private parties, and promotions.
- Coordinate with other departments to ensure smooth event operations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Hotel Management, Hospitality, or a related field preferred.
- Previous experience in food and beverage service, with supervisory or management experience.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Proficiency in computer applications, including restaurant management software.
- Knowledge of food and beverage operations and industry trends.
- Familiarity with local regulations related to food and beverage service.
