Chef Manager (Pan-India Operations)
Job Overview: The Chef Manager will oversee all kitchen operations across multiple outlets in India, working closely with the Corporate Chef to ensure culinary excellence, consistency, and adherence to brand standards. This role combines culinary management with hospitality PR, focusing on guest satisfaction, team training, and operational audits. The Chef Manager will travel extensively to each brand outlet to ensure that each site meets brand standards, addressing any challenges and enhancing operational performance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage all kitchen operations across outlets, ensuring efficiency, quality, and adherence to standard operating procedures.
- Oversee recipe execution in collaboration with the Corporate Chef, ensuring consistency in flavors, presentation, and portion control.
- Conduct audits at each location, assessing kitchen cleanliness, equipment maintenance, and compliance with health and safety standards.
- Hiring, Training, and Development:
- Lead the hiring process for all kitchen staff across outlets, coordinating with HR to select qualified candidates.
- Develop and implement training programs to ensure staff are well-versed in recipes, food safety, hygiene practices, and kitchen protocols.
- Mentor kitchen staff to encourage skill development, independence, and adherence to brand expectations.
- Guest Relations and PR:
- Interact with in-house guests to gather feedback, promote new menu items, and ensure a positive dining experience.
- Serve as a brand ambassador by enhancing guest relations and addressing concerns promptly.
- Coordinate with the Marketing team for brand PR initiatives and events, creating memorable experiences for guests.
- Front-of-House Supervision:
- Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure smooth service delivery, timely food orders, and cohesive guest experiences.
- Monitor service quality and work with managers to resolve any issues impacting customer satisfaction.
- Quality Control and Damage Control:
- Identify and address any issues in kitchen operations, from recipe deviations to equipment malfunctions.
- Stay at each location as needed to oversee repairs, improvements, or additional training to remedy identified issues.
- Inventory and Cost Management:
- Manage kitchen inventory levels, reducing waste and optimizing the use of ingredients across outlets.
- Monitor food and labor costs to ensure they align with budgetary goals and minimize cost overruns.
- Travel and On-Site Supervision:
- Travel to each outlet across the country to perform audits, train staff, and ensure brand standards are maintained.
- Provide hands-on assistance as needed, from supervising events to resolving operational challenges.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Chef Manager, Head Chef, or similar role within a multi-location restaurant or hospitality chain.
- Strong culinary expertise with a passion for recipe execution and menu innovation.
- Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, with a talent for team-building and fostering guest relations.
- Willingness to travel extensively across India, with flexibility for extended stays at various locations.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and problem-solving abilities.
