About the IIHS Geospatial Lab (GSL)
The Geospatial Lab is a hub for spatial analysis, research and capacity building activities at IIHS. The Lab seamlessly integrates spatial technology and methods such as GIS, remote sensing, spatial modelling and web services across practice and consulting services as well as inter-disciplinary research at IIHS. Its position within the IIHS ecosystem uniquely enables the Lab to engage in diverse thematic areas to deeply analyse the different aspects of urban transformation.
Job Description
IIHS is seeking a skilled early-career professional to support inter-disciplinary research, practice and teaching at the GSL. The selected candidate will be part of a team of GIS/Remote Sensing professionals and will closely interact with urban practitioners, researchers and educationists to support a variety of projects and activities. Responsibilities will include spatial data development, visualization and analysis using open- source GIS tools.
This is a contractual position for an initial term of 11 months, renewable on mutual consent, with the potential to turn into a regular position over time.
Activities and Tasks
Responsibilities would include, but not be limited to, the following:
Structure and Reporting
The assistant/ associate will be an External Consultant coordinating with the Senior Consultant Geospatial Lab at IIHS and will be required to collaborate effectively with a diverse group of internal teams and external individuals/organizations, and students.

This is a contractual position for an initial term of 11 months, renewable on mutual consent, with the potential to turn into a regular position over time. This offer is on an exclusive basis, which implies that other professional assignments (whether compensated or not) that bear a potential conflict of interest with IIHS cannot be undertaken.

Location
This position is based in Bengaluru and may entail travel to other locations in India.
Review and Assessment
The role and performance of the incumbent shall be subject to normal review and assessment systems at IIHS.
