Vacancy: Asset Integrity and OpEx Lead

Location: Mumbai, India

As the Asset Integrity and OpEx Lead, you will be accountable for the development of asset integrity management and Operational Excellence strategy at the sites. In addition, you will ensure the alignment and assurance of JM global asset integrity standards and operational excellence best practices are implemented across the Catalysts Technologies sites globally. The role holder reports to the CT Engineering & Operations Director and works collaboratively with members of the Group Engineering function, CT operations site leadership, production and engineering leads. The role provides direction and governance of the programme implementation at the sites for achieving the expected asset integrity and continuous improvement targets measured in increased effectiveness and cost efficiency metrics. The role holder will support the sites to maintain a global key asset register and maintenance documentation, complete with data-driven condition evaluation and expected productive lifetime. This in turn will be used to maintain a live, costed, and risk-ranked asset renewal schedule and CI programs that will underpin the ongoing sustenance element of CT s capital investment requirements.

Your responsibilities:
  • Responsible of identifying the needs and prioritization for standards, guidelines and best practices to be implemented at the CT catalysts operation sites, based on maturity assessments, gap analysis and individual plant requirements.
  • Develop, together and aligned with JM group engineering, the necessary standards and processes to manage the risk of asset operational failure, assisting the CT catalysts operations teams, to effectively implement and monitor these processes.
  • Responsible to identify best maintenance strategies per groups of assets (vessels, reactors, rotating equipment, electrical, instrumentation, machinery, package units, etc.) according to their criticality and lead the development of standards and best practices, to be implemented across all the CT sites and be shared with rest of JM.
  • Identify, assess, and report known asset integrity risks at CT operations sites, on a periodic basis, prioritizing high risk scenarios, safety critical equipment and business critical assets, in agreement with site engineering and management teams and group engineering technical authorities.
  • Maintain the company asset risk register platforms (Enablon, JM Protect, Risk Register updated, monitor status of actions with site teams in a regular basis, providing regular reporting and escalations as needed.
  • Lead the implementation of JM Production System at the sites, providing guidance, coaching and training as necessary to ensure the modules are properly implemented and maintained at site level autonomously.
  • Responsible to define and implement a Continuous Improvement strategy across all CT sites, using standardized tools for optimizing operations and eliminate defects with a systematic approach. Act as SME to support the plants in identifying opportunities to improve productivity and efficiency, as well as to effectively identify and eliminate the top Bad Actors.
  • Development and implementation of KPIs and Metrics to monitor the effectiveness and efficiency of the strategies implemented at the sites, providing regular reporting and analysis of data trends.
  • Promote and drive a culture of data-based decision making and performance reporting in maintenance and operational excellence through the development of standard performance indicators (eg. OEE, MTBF, PM compliance rate, Maintenance cost ratios, etc), creating necessary dashboards that enable site teams to steer properly, assume accountability on results and implement the necessary corrective actions.
  • Ensure a design for reliability, design for safety and design for operability philosophy is well understood and implemented by the project teams when making modifications or designing new assets / plants, embedding the concepts in the early project phases and relevant workshops and documentation (3D model reviews, PHRs, P&IDs, Constructability checks, Design reviews, co etc).

Requirements for the role:
  • Degree in mechanical, electrical, chemical or materials engineering and significant experience working in chemicals manufacturing, refinery or pharmaceutical environment with demonstrable experience in managing technical and/or operational areas
  • Experience implementing Reliability Cantered Maintenance (RCM) processes and related asset and maintenance management methodologies such a preventive maintenance, predictive, condition-based monitoring, spares management, legal inspections, calibrations, etc
  • Subject-matter expertise in Risk Based Inspection (RBI) and Asset Integrity Management (AIM) as demonstrated through active or historical certifications in API 580, ISO 55001 or equivalent.
  • Experience in total Asset Lifecycle Management (ALCM) aspects of asset integrity of fixed equipment, structures, piping systems, bunds, SCE, non-metallic equipment, heat exchangers.
  • Understanding of reliability principles of rotating equipment such as electrical motors, gearboxes and basic pumping systems, including mechanical seals.
  • SME for Continuous Improvement in operations with knowledge of methodologies (OEE process, A3, 5Why, Lean6Sigma, 5S, TPM, Gemba, JIT, etc) and experience applying them on real cases at industrial plants.
  • Experience in working with recognised Asset Integrity Management Systems, anomaly management and CMMS software e.g. SAP, Maximo, E2G Plant Manager, Meridium/GE APM, etc
  • Building Collaborative Relationships - ability to build effective relationships between your team, department, across the wider organisation and with suppliers to help achieve business goals
