- Role Overview: Purple Drive Technology is seeking an experienced AS400 Administrator with a minimum of 7 years of relevant experience to join our team in Bangalore. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in AS400 system administration, including expertise in managing, configuring, and troubleshooting AS400 systems. This role offers a competitive salary of up to 20 LPA.
Administer and maintain AS400 systems, ensuring their availability, reliability, and performance.- Perform system backups, recovery, and disaster recovery planning and execution.
Manage user profiles, permissions, and security settings to ensure system integrity.
- Monitor system performance and implement tuning measures to optimize operations.
Plan and execute system upgrades, patches, and maintenance activities.- Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and network issues related to AS400 systems.
Collaborate with application teams to support and deploy AS400-based applications.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and industry regulations regarding data security and system management.
Document system configurations, procedures, and changes for future reference and audits.- Provide technical support and guidance to junior team members and other stakeholders.
- Technical Skills Required:
Extensive experience with AS400/iSeries system administration.- Proficiency in IBM i (OS/400) operating systems and associated tools.
Experience with job scheduling, batch processing, and system automation.
- Strong understanding of AS400 security concepts, including user profile management and access control.
Knowledge of CL programming and scripting for automation tasks.- Experience with performance monitoring and tuning AS400 systems.
Familiarity with network protocols and configurations relevant to AS400 environments.
- Ability to perform system backups, recovery, and disaster recovery planning.
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
