Responsibilities
- Extract usable data from valuable data sources, or data mine
- Use machine learning tools to select features, improve classifiers, and assist in building effective models
- Utilize AutoML techniques to accelerate model development and deployment
- Carry out preprocessing of structured and unstructured data
- Process, cleanse, and validate the integrity of data for analysis
- Analyze large amounts of information to find patterns and solutions
- Develop prediction systems and machine learning algorithms
- Model, build, and test AI software to ensure it can take on large swaths of data
- Use Python to create a faster, more capable AI
- Stay current on AI knowledge, trends, and regulations
- Present results and propose solutions and strategies to tackle challenges
- Collaborate with business, product and engineering teams
- Collect, organize, and present progress with teams and partners
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
- Hands-on experience as a data scientist working on end-to-end machine learning projects
- Hands-on experience with platforms like OpenAI, Gemini, or Claude
- Hands on experience in NLP and LLMs such as GPT, HuggingFace, Langchain, Langsmith, Llamaindex
- Hands-on experience with fine-tuning LLMs and working with Vector databases
- Knowledge of concepts such as RAG and Multimodal AI
- Knowledge of Vertex AI, AutoML, TensorFlow, PyTorch
- Good applied statistical knowledge of statistical tests, distributions, regression, and maximum likelihood estimators
- Knowledge of machine learning methods like k-Nearest Neighbours, Naive Bayes, SVM, Decision Forests
- Hands-on experience with Python programming language
- Familiarity with AWS or other large cloud providers
- Experience writing complex SQL, data extraction, analysis and profiling
- Experience with Data Visualization Tools like Tableau, Power BI, Looker that help to visually encode data
- Good to have experience with data warehousing such as Snowflake, Databricks, BigQuery, Data Factory
