Art Director
The ideal candidate must demonstrate excellent taste and experience in art direction, graphic design, video editing and typography. Essential to this role is staying current with category trends, social, cultural, and media trends and experiences, and being a passionate advocate for great design.
Responsibilities
- Includes the entire process of defining requirements, visualizing, and creating graphics including Branding, illustrations, logos, layouts, and photos. You will be the one to shape the visual aspects of websites, social media creatives, magazines,
- Collaborate and communicate effectively with designers, strategists, copywriters, and Client Servicing counterparts
- designers, illustrators, and editors to ensure the vision is brought to life
- Stay abreast with global cultural trends and industry updates, and
- proactively develop timely ideas for relevant brands
1. IDEATION AND THINKING
- You will be a strong conceptual thinker that knows how to get to the heart of a creative challenge and build compelling brand stories
- You have experience leading and managing others in the creative process from Ideation through to production
- You think strategically and demonstrate a keen awareness of both online and offline trends
2. Campaigns
- Develop and deliver pitches, that impress clients, and successfully bring to life the proposed campaign
- Work with clients to amend ideas based on their wishes, knowing how to communicate what is and isn't possible in order to achieve the intended results.
- You will be a confident communicator with good presentation and negotiation skills that ensure your team's ideas get buy-in from both internal and client audiences
3. LEADERSHIP AND ORGANISATIONAL
- You are comfortable leading a small team of creatives across multiple projects from conception to completion in accordance with deadlines
- You are a strong mentor who can use your experience to develop and grow those in your team
- Growing and managing a small team of art specialists to deliver creative work, supporting and mentoring team members to ensure ongoing development
- Taking responsibility for all creative aspects of our own Agency's brand, building the perception of creative strategy
4. Market Impact & Recognition
- Design and execute a strategy that will result in Born Hi Digital's work being recognised, admired and respected by the industry, clients (existing and prospective), and talent (existing and prospective)
- Actively submit work that wins awards and/or receives international recognition for the above
Qualifications
- Minimum 10 years of relevant professional experience working in a similar role
- Creative portfolio demonstrating scope of creative capabilities, with a focus on digital design, art direction, and fresh digital media projects
- Strategic and conceptual thinking and a passion for learning and self- improvement
- Proactive and a self-starter with ability to prioritize and drive results
- Demonstrated typography skills
- Experience leading multi-channel work from ideation through execution
- Experience leading teams and creating independently
- Adaptable and able to handle changes in briefs, priorities and edits
- Proven highly versatile creative concepting, design, and art direction skills
