Job Description

Role Overview:

As an Area Manager for the Direct Marketing Channel at Edelweiss Life Insurance in Pune, you will lead, develop, and drive the success of a high-performing team of SBMs, BMs, and FLS professionals. This role requires a strategic leader with proven abilities in sales growth, team development, and talent acquisition.

You'll be responsible for achieving regional business targets, optimizing sales strategies, and fostering a collaborative, motivating environment that empowers team members. Your focus on onboarding, skill-building, and ongoing development will ensure sustained team performance in a competitive market.

This position offers a competitive CTC and growth opportunities within Edelweiss Life Insurance's expanding Direct Marketing Channel.

Key Responsibilities:

Channel Strategy & Execution

  • Implement the direct channel strategy across the region, ensuring it aligns with organizational growth objectives.

Recruitment & Talent Development

  • Recruit and onboard SBMs, BMs, and FLS team members as per the regional manpower budget.
  • Ensure all recruitment follows company standards, and facilitate thorough onboarding and training.

Business Development

  • Drive regional business targets, maintain a balanced product mix, and monitor key productivity indicators.
  • Analyze and report business performance, creating and implementing recognition programs to drive motivation.

Team Leadership

  • Inspire, motivate, and retain a high-performing team with a strong focus on sales development.
  • Conduct joint calls with SBMs, BMs, and FLS team members, providing support, guidance, and sales coaching.

Compliance & Strategic Decision-Making

  • Ensure all activities comply with company policies, making informed, strategic decisions to meet business goals.

Qualifications:

  • Education: MBA or Bachelor's degree in any discipline.
  • Experience: Minimum of 8-10 years in life insurance, with at least 5 years in a team management role.
  • Skills: Demonstrated success in direct sales, team leadership, and achieving business targets in a competitive landscape.
