The Architect - Manager will oversee the architectural design, planning, and execution of Yountville's property acquisition and development projects. The role requires strong project management skills and the ability to communicate technical requirements and recommendations to various stakeholders. The individual must ensure the efficient transformation of properties to meet the brand's standards while maximizing space utilization and cost efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
Project, Planning and Design
- Lead architectural planning and design processes for new and acquired properties.
- Create conceptual designs, layouts, and proposals for property transformations.
- Evaluate the feasibility of property acquisitions from and architectural perspective.
Building Assessments
- Conduct site visits and assess the structural capacity and suitability of potential properties
- Work with structural engineers to evaluate the transformation needs for each property
Project Management
- Manage the end-to-end architectural design and construction process.
- Collaborate with contractors, engineers, and vendors to ensure on-time project completion
- Monitor the budget, timelines, and quality of work during the project life cycle.
Regulatory Compliance
- Ensure all designs and constructions meet local building codes and regulations.
- Manage the application and approval process for building permits
Team Collaboration
- Work closely with the property acquisition team to provide architectural insights for decision-making
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders such as the facility manager, operations team and marketing team to align property developments with business goals.
Vendor Management
- Identify and manage relationships with architectural consultants, contractors, and suppliers
- Review vendor performance to ensure adherence to design standards and project timelines.
Sustainability and Innovation
- Integrate sustainable and innovative architectural practices to enhance the properties long-term value.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in architecture (B.Arch) + Master's degree in Architecture, Construction Management, or a related field is a plus
- 5+ years of experience in architecture, with a focus on building design and construction management
- Proven experience in property development or transformation projects.
- Experience in managing multi-disciplinary teams and external vendors.
Skills
- String project-management skills and ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
- Proficiency in architectural design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit)
- Excellent knowledge of building codes, regulations, and standards.
