Xebia seeks a results-driven and collaborative professional to join our team as an API Architect. The person will design, implement, and manage the API architecture and strategy. This role requires in-depth knowledge of API management, cloud technologies, and API management tools. The API Architect will work closely with stakeholders to ensure API solutions are secure, scalable, and aligned with business objectives.

Key Responsibilities:
API Architecture Design and Implementation:
- Design and develop API architecture that supports high availability, scalability, and security.
- Create and manage RESTful APIs, ensuring they adhere to industry best practices.
- Implement API versioning, documentation, and lifecycle management.
API Management:
- To manage the API ecosystem, utilize API management tools such as Apigee, AWS API Gateway, Azure API Management, Kong, or Mulesoft.
- Implement API security best practices, including OAuth, JWT, and rate limiting.
- Monitor API performance, usage, and security, and optimize as necessary.
- Conduct API maturity assessments and develop roadmaps for API improvements.
Cloud Integration:
- Design and implement API solutions that leverage cloud services (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) for backend functionality.
- Ensure seamless integration of APIs with cloud-native services and infrastructure.
- Optimize API deployments for performance, scalability, and cost-effectiveness in the cloud environment.
Deployment Strategies:
- Implement and manage various deployment strategies, including blue-green deployments, canary releases, and rolling updates.
- Ensure smooth and low-risk deployments, minimizing downtime and disruption.
Hands-On Development:
- Develop, test, and deploy APIs using modern development frameworks and languages.
- Create and maintain comprehensive API documentation and provide support for API consumers.
- Perform code reviews and ensure adherence to coding standards and best practices.
Strategy and Governance:
- Define and drive the API strategy, aligning with the overall business and technology strategy.
- Establish governance policies and best practices for API development, deployment, and management.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure API solutions meet business and technical requirements.
Collaboration and Leadership:
- Work closely with development, operations, and security teams to design and implement API solutions.
- Mentor and guide technical teams on API architecture, best practices, and emerging technologies.
- Participate in architectural reviews and provide constructive feedback.
Innovation and Best Practices:
- Stay updated with the latest trends and advancements in API management and cloud technologies.
- Evaluate and integrate emerging technologies and tools to enhance the API ecosystem.
- Promote the adoption of best practices and innovative solutions within the organization.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in appropriate field of study or equivalent work experience
- 10 to 15 years of relevant work experience in internet-related program and/or technical program management in a software applications environment
- Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
- Familiarity with Agile and other project management methodologies.
- Good problem-solving skills and ability to think strategically
