We are seeking an experienced AR Finance Controller with 10+ years of experience in the IT industry. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in setting up and scaling accounts receivable (AR) functions, driving improvements in AR processes, and ensuring healthy cash flow management. This role requires expertise in managing large, complex AR portfolios, credit risk assessment, and working in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
Key Responsibilities:
1. AR Function Setup & Leadership:
- Establish and structure the AR function from the ground up, aligning it with company objectives and industry best practices.
- Develop AR policies, procedures, and workflows tailored for the IT sector, ensuring scalability as the company grows.
- Build and lead a high-performing AR team, providing guidance on best practices, process improvements, and collection strategies.
2. End-to-End AR Management:
- Manage end-to-end AR processes, from billing and invoicing to cash application and reconciliation.
- Ensure timely collections and minimize aging accounts through effective credit control and proactive follow-up.
- Monitor AR aging reports and develop strategies to reduce Days Sales Outstanding (DSO), improving cash flow and liquidity.
Credit & Risk Management:
- Set up robust credit policies, evaluating customer creditworthiness in the IT services/products space.
- Conduct thorough credit assessments, establish credit limits, and manage risk to minimize bad debt exposure.
- Collaborate with sales and legal teams to structure customer contracts that protect cash flow and mitigate risk.
Reporting & Analytics:
- Develop AR dashboards and regular reports, providing insights on collection performance, DSO, cash flow trends, and key AR metrics.
- Analyze AR data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for process improvement.
- Provide senior management with actionable recommendations to enhance AR performance and reduce outstanding receivables.
Cross-functional Collaboration:
- Work closely with the sales, operations, and customer success teams to resolve disputes, enhance customer relationships, and ensure smooth AR operations.
- Drive continuous process automation and improvements in AR workflows by collaborating with IT and finance teams.
- Lead AR-related projects, including system upgrades, integration with ERP solutions, and implementation of AR automation tools.
Compliance & Audit Support:
- Ensure compliance with company policies, relevant regulations, and industry standards.
- Support internal and external audits by preparing and providing documentation and analysis related to AR.
- Implement internal controls to safeguard assets, minimize errors, and ensure the accuracy of AR financial reporting.
Requirements:
Education & Experience:
1. Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field (Master's degree or CA/MBA preferred).
2. 10+ years of experience in accounts receivable management, including 5+ years of experience in the IT industry.
3. Demonstrated experience in setting up and leading AR functions in a fast-paced, technology-driven environment.
Technical Skills:
1. Deep understanding of IT industry AR dynamics, including SaaS/subscription models, long-term contracts, and multi-currency transactions.
2. Proficiency in accounting software (ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, NetSuite).
Advanced knowledge of MS Excel and financial modeling for AR analysis.
3. Familiarity with AR automation tools and credit management systems.
