S&P Global Commodity Insights is seeking candidates for our Apprenticeship program within our Fuels, Chemicals, and Resource Solutions (FCRS) business line. This program offers a 12-months skill development in FCRS Research & Analytics Team. The Apprentice will have a front-row seat in a leading research organization's work in energy markets and energy transition across the globe. As a part of the apprenticeship, candidates will have the opportunity to work on market fundamentals modelling and forecasting, policy analysis, conventional and renewable energies, new technology trends, carbon markets, among others. During the 12 months, you will have the opportunity to:
Learn about various aspects of Crude Oil, Fuels and Refined Products, Chemicals, Agriculture commodities and fertilizers, and the Maritime & Trade industries.
Receive exposure to a large number of market subjects including supply and demand, global trade, infrastructure issues, geo-political issues, transportation and regulation/policy, cost analytics and how these subjects impact respective markets.
Receive training in the research function and will assist with a variety of workstreams including but not limited to supply/demand/trade, costs and profit analysis, new investment strategies, asset rationalization criteria, carbon emissions impact, and price forecasting and many other areas.

Our clients largely comprise of oil and gas operators, refining companies, chemical companies, financial investors, governments, and various other stakeholders to these industries. We offer clients a combination of short-term/long-term advisory, tailored consulting, and services developed to assist them with meeting their needs related to climate change and reduced emissions. We work with corporate and regional executives to develop sustainable strategies and assess investments and divestments within those strategies.
Responsibilities:
Assist analysts with secondary research assignments by collecting industry data and supporting the analysis of regional market trends using various data analytics technique.
Conduct basic research on various industry aspects, including economy, government policies, and supply-demand dynamics. Aid analysts in collating this information to make informed decision.
Support the lead in preparing client reports and presentations, transforming data into clear and compelling insights.
Collaborate with team members to ensure data accuracy and integrity.
Participate in team meetings and communicate effectively.
Assist senior analysts in creating models, performing data structuring, and conducting analysis using technology tools such as Python, and data visualization tools such as Microsoft Power BI, Spotfire and Tableau.
What we're looking for:
Recent Graduate or Post-graduate, preferably in the field of chemical engineering. The candidate must not have a prior employment history.
Strong working knowledge on office 365 application skills including PowerPoint, Word, and Excel.
Familiarity with modeling and data science tools such as python and R is desired.
A strong curiosity to learn about global news events and a tendency to brainstorm.
Ability to conduct extensive research and write coherent analyses.
Excellent reading and writing skills in international business English, with good communication skills, and a natural bent for multi-tasking.
Self-motivated and ambitious, with strong problem solving and logical reasoning skills.
Strong interpersonal skills, customer focus, and a high regard for stakeholder relationships.
