Our Silicon Design & Verification business is all about building high-performance silicon chipsfaster. We're the world's leading provider of solutions for designing and verifying advanced silicon chips. And we design the next-generation processes and models needed to manufacture those chips. We enable our customers to optimize chips for power, cost, and performanceeliminating months off their project schedules.
We are looking for Application Engineer to join the team.
Requires a minimum of 1-2 years of related experience. Possesses a full understanding of specialization area plus working knowledge of multiple related areas. Resolve a wide range of issues in creative ways on a regular basis. Work is collaborative in nature. Represents the organization on business unit and/or company-wide projects. Frequently networks with senior internal and external personnel in own area of expertise.
In this role, you will provide technical and engineering insight and direction to support and improve usability, applicability and adoption of products, platforms and solutions to meet customer business needs. Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues on customer installations; Deploy and train customers on new implementations and capabilities. Works directly with RND to develop and implement technical roadmap, specifications and validation for improvements and enhancements. Partner with customer technical managers and Sales to identify business challenges, develop effective technical solutions for new accounts and increase utilization and retention of products on current accounts.
Key Qualifications
Knowledge of RTL2GDS flow and methodology
Passion for innovative solutions , exposure to cutting edge technology and positive approach to customer challenges
Experience in Physical Design. Experience in independently debugging and resolving PnR implementation challenges.
Working knowledge and general proficiency with tools, systems and procedures required to accomplish the job
Thorough knowledge in Digital circuits, CMOS concepts and ASIC design flow
Knowledge in scripting (tcl / unix / perl)
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a passion for world class customer service.
Typically requires a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical /Electronics/Computer Engineering with a minimum of 1+ years of related work experience in a global or multinational company
Preferred Experience
Working closely with the customer account team by actively participating and influencing the technical strategy and execution for the customer.
Design experience should include ASIC design using industry-standard tools mainly in the areas of Florplan, Placement, Optimization, CTS, Routing.
Work with R&D to improve the design flow, QoR and runtimes of the designs.
Support process includes diagnosing, troubleshooting, and providing workarounds for product bugs, and providing solutions for a wide range of complex issues covering usage, methodology, product defects, and interoperability.
Perform block level place and route and close the design to meet timing, area and power constraints.
Assist in flow development for chip integration.
Customer sensitivity, the ability to multiplex many issues & set priorities, and the desire to help customers exploit new technologies are essential for success in the position.
Developing necessary scripts that improve the overall job effectiveness and efficiency.
Tool knowledge expected: Front end Synthesis tools & Back-End P&R tools like ICC2, FusionCompiler (OR) Industry standard P&R tools
