About The Opportunity
Avaya IT plays a critical role in Avaya growth by supporting key businesses such as Marketing and Sales using best in class technologies. We are looking for a JAVA/J2EE full stack development lead. The ideal candidate will support the backbone of all the web application functions, and design and quality control ensuring the stability and high-performance expected for the company's critical front-door domains to the world and its partners. To be successful, the candidate will need to have core expertise in Web technologies, digital transformation, and webservice optimization and maintenance
About The Responsibilities
As a JAVA/J2EE full stack development lead, you will be responsible for
- Overall web application portfolio architecture and design
- Governing the web application quality and best practice implementations for all related environments; Dev, Staging and Production
- Maintaining a web application Center of Excellence documentation such as Confluence and coordinating infrastructure roadmap upgrades
- Responsible for defining, leading and developing project tasks
- Recommends options or solutions that meet a business need and desired functionality
- Selects the most relevant tools/techniques to meet specific client requirements
- Lead work streams in a larger program and directing the work of staff
- Identifies and solves problems using analysis, experience and technical expertise.
- Develops solutions to problems through application of personal experience and methods and tools; validates solutions with subject matter experts
- Communicates how the engagement impacts risks, business objectives, and quality goals to guide the work of Junior Staff
- Defines the overall goals of an engagement and communicates goals to and junior staff to guide their project work
- Facilitates top-down and bottom-up communications and awareness for junior staff and management
- Performs analysis and effective diagnosis of issues
- Understands the benefits of using state of the art methods and tools in their application on a particular engagement; contributes to continuous development of methods and tools
- Coordinates activities between work streams and identifies changes in scope
- Demonstrates accountability and contributions to the successful realization the organization goals
- Able to adapt and operate effectively in a rapidly changing environment
- Point of contact for cross-functional IT teams
Experience
About The Requirements
- Proven hands-on experience on Java technology stack, omni-channel architecture solutioning and best practices
- Strong knowledge in overall digital transformation initiatives and related migration activities from one platform to another
- Demonstrable experience in designing and maintaining web application architecture
- Strong knowledge in front-end related technologies regarding performance optimizations and benchmark reporting
- Experience with Cloud computing and web/micro services
- Leading an agile project related initiative from planning to completion
Skills & Competencies
- Preferred proficiency with 8+ years experience in
oJava, J2EE, Spring Framework, Spring MVC, REST and SOAP services, MyBatis, DOJO, Angular JS, AJAX, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, Eclipse, XML, XSD, DML/DDL, PL/SQL Programming
oWeblogic and Apache application administration
oServer load-balancing
- Akamai content distribution
- SSL Certification renewal
Additional Information
- Full time regular work schedule. Will be times that will need to assist with deployments or escalations in the PM or on weekends
