Description
Amazon is seeking qualified Application Security (AppSec) Engineers to join our innovative, high energy Amazon Payments India Security team and work within the Consumer Stores Security organization. Amazon Payments processes millions of transactions every day across numerous countries and payment methods. Paramount to our success is ensuring that our customer data is secure.
As an application security engineer within India Payments Security, you will partner with engineering teams in a consulting facility throughout the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), to ensure that applications are designed and built securely. You will identify potential vulnerabilities in the applications and enable developers to understand and remediate such identified vulnerabilities.
Key job responsibilities
- Create, update, and maintain threat models for variety of software products
- Conduct manual and automated Secure Code Review (in Java, Python, and Javascript)
- Develop tools to improve security automation
- Train your peers and software engineers on security topics
- Understand security architecture and design guidance
- Independently solve security problems that require novel methods or approaches
- Influence your team's and partners process, priorities, and choices to improve outcomes
- Confidently and intelligently respond to security findings, proactively considering how to prevent recurrence of similar incidents
- Learn about operational business functions and how systems and software enable our customer and partner journey
- Analyze logging and alerting infrastructure to ensure appropriate coverage and response capability
- Evaluate impact of current security trends, advisories, publications, and academic research
- Fulfill regular on-call responsibilities.

Basic Qualifications
- 2+ years of programming in Python, Ruby, Go, Swift, Java, .Net, C++ or similar object oriented language experience
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
- 1+ years of any combination of the following: threat modeling experience, secure coding, identity management and authentication, software development, cryptography, system administration and network security experience
Preferred Qualifications
- 3+ years of any combination of the following: threat modeling experience, secure coding, identity management and authentication, software development, cryptography, system administration and network security experience
- Experience with AWS products and services
- Experience with programming languages such as Python, Java, C++
