Job Description

Position Accountabilities & Responsibilities

As an application engineer, it is primarily your duty to provide our customers with remote, telephone, or email support as needed. You should be able to visit the location and resolve all issues as per our organization policy if you are necessary to go to the field. Depending on the complaint made by our customer, it can be necessary to travel nonstop for 23 days. When providing support, you must also thoroughly document the commissioning procedure. As required, you will also offer post-visit support. You will be expected to know everything about the Crestron product line as a team member and be required to undergo the required training during your initial period.

In addition to receiving support, if any of our hardware does not perform as intended, you may need to issue an RMA (replacement of new gear) by getting in touch with our service staff right away. If the RMA equipment is successfully delivered and installed, we must follow up with the client or our channel partner to ensure the replacement unit is operating properly.

As a member of the support team, you will need to coordinate with the sales team if any support or service cases violate company policy, engage with customers in accordance with instructions, and conduct a POC (Proof of Concept) if necessary to demonstrate the product to clients to satisfy their needs. In addition, a follow-up is necessary.

  • Building and maintaining customer rapport, ensuring they understand Crestron is with them through every process step.
  • Determine specifics for the reported problem, including but not limited to the following:

a. A clear description of the reported problem

b. The number of deployed systems impacted.

c. Current hardware/firmware/software configurations of impacted systems

d. Deployment environment (other Crestron or 3rd party equipment in the installation)

  • Review published documentation with the customer and connect with our sales team where applicable.
  • High-level analysis of log files.
  • Fundamental analysis of customer network.
  • Create RMAs as needed for a customer site.
  • Assist in supporting Crestron's customer knowledgebase by the creation of training material, knowledgebase articles, supportive documentation, and software tools.
  • Guide customers through the customized implementation process.
  • Provide expert advice in camera and video technology.
  • Assist in the configuration of the Crestron Flex system.
  • Able to adapt any situation as per the job requirements to fulfill the customer needs as per our organization.

Experience & Education Requirements:

An authorized university's bachelor's degree in computer engineering or electronics and electrical communication, or an equivalent Diploma (3 years regular course)

Minimum of 4 years and above having experience in the audio and video system

Must have experience in Crestron programming and Tech support.

Job Skills Requirements:

  • Knowledge of Microsoft product line such Exchange / O365 / Active Directory, Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, Photoshop, etc.
  • Knowledge of various programming software such as Visual Studio, C, C++, C#, HTML5, Python, Linux, and Web Server programming languages
  • Must have valid certification such as CCNA / CCNP and Microsoft Product Certifications like MS-700, MySQL.
  • Must have knowledge of IIS, Network Security, and Cloud.
  • The capacity to comprehend and evaluate a client's problem and do system troubleshooting through deductive reasoning.
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent communication skills and teaching abilities
  • Ability to do a being good team player.
  • The ability to understand individual limits and quickly assess situations to determine if the appropriate skill set is being applied.
  • Must have a knowledge of industry standards AV products such as DSP, Signage devices, Streaming devices, and unified communications.
