About the Role:
The incumbent is responsible for leading a team of 15-20 Application Developers.He is an active thought partner and an application visionary who shapes, in co-operation with the Chief Information Officer as per the business requirement.
The person will report to the Chief Information Officer- IT. The person will have to work as part of a multi-functional team and this involves working with the possible stakeholders at branches across India.
The person will be responsible for the end to end application development life cycle providing guidance, assistance, and technical leadership to development teams that are deploying solutions using the latest development tools and methodologies.
Responsibilities
Managing stakeholders from India and Asia
Managing Mumbai and Asia software development teams
To be able to do Application development in Python Django
Ensuring delivery of projects being developed on Python(Django, Android and PHP)
Manages a team of at least 18 to 20 developers who will be responsible for mobile and applications development and design
Evaluates current technologies and delivers applications meeting the latest standards.
Sets deadlines, assigns responsibilities, mentors, and monitors progress of the team
Review procedures related to application quality standards and testing
Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring co-ordination with other departments.
Creates and sets performance plans for the team aligned to strategic plans
Identifies and resolves gaps in processes, and resources
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree (or its equivalent) in a related area
Overall experience of 10+ yrs with at least 4 years of managerial experience with applications development.
Should have prior experience of team handling of at least 10 reportees
Proficient in the use of computer applications and systems especially languages such as Java, PHP, Python. Knowledge of Python and Django is a must.
Fluency in both verbal and written English
