General:
- Overall 12+ years of IT experience with relevant mainframe architectural experience with large-scale enterprise-grade solutions
- Should have strong 5+ years experience designing and deploying/modernizing mainframe legacy estate
- Well versed in mainframe assessments , modernization and migration programs, well aware of software principles, design patterns, Application and Enterprise integration patterns
- Ability to communicate with all levels of the organization (leading technical discussions and communicating with leaders)
- Thinks in terms of capabilities and the technologies to deliver
- Must be able to collaborate and lead discussions with multiple teams to develop solution architectures for legacy estates with little or no SME knowledge
- Seeks to understand and manage business requirements and expected outcomes across multiple teams
- Able to identify and assess risks to mitigate and eliminate technical obstacles that negatively impact the delivery of a solution
- Must be assertive and responsible for the creation of solutions that meets or exceeds business expectations
Must Have
- Expertise in developing and architecting modernization solutions for Mainframes with stack including COBOL, JCL, Java, C++, REXX, CICS, Natural, Easytrieve etc
- Should have been part of large mainframe modernization programs, application assessments
- Familiarity with any of the mainframe modernization tools like BluAge, Astadia, Raincode etc
- Strong understanding of mainframe Databases and modernizations of the same onto modern Database stack
- Should be flexible to solution as also to deliver programs if necessary as product owner/architect
- Should have good knowledge of one of the cloud platforms AWS, Azure, GCP and how to modernize mainframe workloads onto modern stack using the same
- Should be proficient in cost-benefit and return on investment analysis for proposed solutions to aid management in making implementation decisions
- Familiarity with the various nuances of cloud native application development is a plus including PaaS and CaaS deployment models
- Familiarity with DevOps tools like Jenkins, GO
- Certification in any of WatsonX for z, Azure, AWS or GCP is a plus
- Capability presentation to customers and PoC's in their environment to demonstrate the solution features
- Handholding and consulting with the delivery programs for solution fitment and gaps management
- Requirement gathering and specification, Providing Business solution to client, Design of large scale enterprise system, Build, Testing,
- Technical documentation, User coordination, Migration Planning
- Experience in designing modernized IT landscape/architecture for medium and large Cloud migration projects.
- Thorough understanding and good experience in Cloud migration assessment for Enterprise applications.
- Ability to lead a team of Architects / technology Leads from different technologies and establishing innovation in processes, tools, best practices and reusable components.
- Experience in home grown/third party legacy conversion tools will be a plus.
- Good experience in Delivery and Pre-sales process and a thorough understanding of the nuances of client and internal team relationships is a must.
- Experience in Client RFP's for large deals
- Experience in Pricing and Estimation methods
- Experience in DevOps tools, Agile PM will be a plus.
Good to Have
- Experience in defining and implementing Hybrid scenarios with mainframe workloads shared across on premise and cloud, application Integration between cloud and on-premise environments
- Experience in working in a factory based model
- Exploring new Technology partnership options and driving them to completion.
