Working to support the WTW Azure virtual desktop environment Application & Desktop Virtualization Operations Administrators are responsible for supporting and maintaining the service, driving innovation and operational stability.
This will be achieved through analysis, solutioning and proactive remediation of issues. An Operations Admin is expected to be strategically focused, looking at enhancements and automation opportunities within the current service to simplify the operational model alongside supporting internal WTW colleagues.
Candidates will be expected to provide support to the company at a global level and as such need to be able to communicate (in English) with both a non-technical and technical level.
Responsibilities:
Provide Operational Support against the global Application & Desktop Virtualization platforms (Azure Virtual Desktop and hosted applications).
Assist the senior engineers and Global Solutions Designer as required with maintenance and enhancements of all aspects of the Application & Desktop Virtualization including processes and documentation.
Identify operational improvements, articulate to platform owner, and deliver service improvements.
Maintain an Information Security focus through risk mitigation and data loss prevention practices.
Support the WTW business through ticket driven requests and proactive change management.
Requirements:
Overall 6-8 years of experience in IT
3+ years experience with core technologies such as Azure Virtual desktop
An ITIL qualification is desirable but not essential
A basic understanding of how applications interact with the Windows Operating System is critical as is experience in Enterprise Microsoft products and expertise in Active Directory
Conceptual understanding/experience with Windows 11 is desirable
Experience with Windows 10 and Windows Server 2016/2019 is desirable
Can demonstrate fundamental Microsoft Azure competency/awareness
Has experience developing scripted solutions with Microsoft PowerShell
Will be a self-motivated achiever, quickly grasp and interpret salient information with the ability to take a can-do approach without the need for supervision
