Job Description

We are looking for Naval Architect/Marine Engineer as a Business Analyst III with experience in Ship Plan approval or verification process OR marine classification services such as surveying or construction overseeing activities OR ship design and construction with emphasis on dealing with classification services.n

The candidate should be willing to work with SMEs (ABS Surveyors & Engineers) and various other stakeholders to understand the business needs and requirements, product use cases and translate them to meaningful and relatable requirements. Candidate will also require close interaction on a day-to-day basis with a software development team comprising Developers, QA Analysts, and other actors to help them understand, design, develop and implement various product solutions as per the business needs. Candidate should guide BA I and BA II on their day-to-day activities.n

What You Will Do:n

  • Liaise with various ABS Surveyors, Engineers, different stakeholders to understand the business needs.n
  • Elicit and establish SMART requirements with detailed descriptions considering all factors.n
  • Collaborate with design team to ensure that business needs are fully understood and met.n
  • Guide and assist the development team to ensure that the product aligns with the required business vision.n
  • Help BA-Lead to build business knowledge in the delivery team.n
  • Guide and assist the QA team to analyze and test the developed IT solutions.n
  • Work with cross-functional teams to ensure quality throughout the software development lifecycle.n
  • Must have experience working in Agile (Scrum) methodology.n
  • Must have experience of working in Agile (Scrum) process.n

What You Will Need:n

Education & Experiencen

  • Minimum 10 years experience as a surveyor in the marine industry / Business Analyst in IT industryn
  • Should be a Marine Engineer or Naval Architectn

Knowledge, Skills & Abilitiesn

  • Must have knowledge of Marine plan approval processes and ship survey practices to understand ABS business needs.n
  • Ability to work across multiple teams and provide continuous support to different team members.n
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.n
  • Analytical skills Evaluate and examine all possible scenarios.n
  • Problem solving - Ability to suggest new ideas and solutions.n
  • Attention to detail Requires detailed analysis to find ways to improve developed products.n
  • Knowledge of Software Development Lifecycle would be an added advantage.n
  • Willingness to explore and learn new concepts both in the Marine and IT industry.n

Reporting Relationships:n

Will report to a Delivery manager and may have reports.n

Working Conditions:n

The work environment will primarily be an air-conditioned office setting requiring the employee to sit for prolonged periods while concentrating on a computer screen.
