The Global Fixed Income team offers investment solutions across markets and across the risk continuum, from index to hedge funds. A team of more than 400 fixed income professionals enables us to provide extensive global coverage of the fixed income markets. Our fixed income team draws from a deep understanding of the markets and extensive fixed income product expertise. Relative value strategy meetings combine top-down and bottom-up investment insights, resulting in a holistic and comprehensive assessment of both risks and opportunities. BlackRock Fixed Income's institutional index funds and iShares strategies span the world's investable fixed income markets. Our portfolio construction process entails detailed benchmark knowledge, efficient trading, and performance analysis.
Job Description
The responsibilities of a Municipal Strategist analyst include:
- Ability to monitor, understand and analyze market activity so to develop data and strategy that contributes to the multiple books of business within the municipal department.
- Update, maintain & monitor a suite of spreadsheets that contain vital information for accurate and timely information.
- Use technology to enhance both workflow as well as the overall experience within municipal strategy for the most efficient outcome.
- Continue to develop and make more efficient a central location for information sharing, while providing input for future development and enhancement
- Maintain and deploy municipal information that is collected for the purpose of general dissemination.
Qualifications
- BA/BS is required, business concentration preferred.
- 1-3 years of relevant experience
- Demonstrated record of academic achievement and leadership.
- Strong critical thinking and problem solving abilities.
- Exceptional communication skills and an ability to synthesize complex issues and ideas. Solid written and oral skills.
- Strong quantitative skills, including high proficiency with Excel.
- Superior organizational skills and ability to work under tight deadlines.
- Self-starters who are also team players and able to demonstrate good judgment.
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize various projects.
- Displays a strong work ethic and enthusiasm towards the role
