Job summary: As a Commercial Analyst, you will play a pivotal role in evaluating opportunities, perform due diligence, analyzing market trends and financial data to support strategic decision-making.
Responsibilities
Financial Modelling and Analysis
- Carry out the financial modelling and also conduct comprehensive financial analysis and provide commercial insights including valuations, pro-forma financial modelling and risk assessment to evaluate feasibility of each renewable energy transaction;
- Assist in the development of business cases for new initiatives and investments in renewable energy.
Deal Structuring
- Collaborate and support with legal and finance teams to structure renewable energy deals, negotiate terms and ensure alignment with strategic objectives.
Competitor Analysis, Customer Insights and Market Research
- Monitor regulatory developments and assess their impact on current and future projects;
- Assist in the development of business cases for new initiatives and investments in renewable energy.
Performance Metrics
- Reporting and track key performance indicators to measure the success of renewable energy initiatives.
Reporting
- Provide regular reports and presentations to senior management, highlighting growth opportunities, market insights and progress towards expansion goals;
- Work closely with the finance team to ensure accurate budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting for renewable energy projects.
Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelors degree in Finance, Economics plus postgraduate degree, or Engineering plus MBA Finance;
- Proven experience in financial modelling, in-depth knowledge of Excel (preferably with macros), commercial analysis, preferably within the consulting or renewable energy or related industries;
- Strong financial modelling and analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and translate it into actionable insights;
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly and concisely;
- Knowledge of renewable energy technologies, markets, and regulatory environments.
