Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement strategic plans to drive sales, revenue, and profitability for the Plant category.
- Conduct market research and analysis to identify trends, customer preferences, and competitive dynamics within the Plant category.
- Source and onboard high-quality vendors and suppliers for Plants, Plant pots, and Flower products, ensuring a diverse and attractive product assortment.
- Negotiate favorable terms, pricing, and contracts with vendors to maximize margins while maintaining competitive market pricing.
- Collaborate with marketing, operations, and procurement teams to ensure smooth execution of category initiatives and promotional campaigns.
- Monitor inventory levels, sales performance, and product offerings to identify opportunities for optimization and growth.
- Lead product development initiatives, including new product launches, packaging design, and quality assurance processes.
- Implement effective merchandising strategies and visual displays to enhance the in-store presentation and appeal of plant products.
- Train and develop the sales team on product knowledge, selling techniques, and customer service standards related to the Plant category.
- Stay updated on industry trends, regulatory requirements, and best practices, incorporating them into the business strategy for the Plant category.
Desired Skills & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field (Masters degree preferred).
- 5+ years of experience in category management, product management, or retail operations, preferably with a focus on Plant products.
- Proven success in driving sales and profitability in a retail environment, with a focus on category growth and expansion.
- Strong negotiation skills and the ability to build solid relationships with vendors and suppliers.
- Strategic thinker with strong analytical skills, able to turn data into actionable insights and initiatives.
- Creative mindset with a passion for product innovation and development.
- Leadership experience, with proven success in team development and management.
