Role Summary
- As part of our team, you will lead the Mumbai design teams in creating faade designs for a variety of architecturally complex structures across the UK and Ireland. Reporting to the Design Manager, you'll collaborate with pre-construction, commercial, and operations teams throughout the design, production, and installation phases of each project.
Key Responsibilities
- Understanding architectural needs for facade, roof light, and fenestration design, fabrication, and installation through drawings and relevant documentation while adhering to manufacturer guidelines, company protocols, client demands, representative standards, and current laws.
- Overseeing projects to ensure they are financially viable and comply with the company's design and quality assurance standards.
- Guiding internal and external design teams, tracking the design timetable, and reporting any challenges to the Design team.
- Regular communication with departments such as Purchasing, Estimating, Commercial, and Operations.
- Participating in handover meetings to assess project scope and identify design issues needing resolution.
- Actively resolving discrepancies in project documentation and specifications, setting up meetings when required.
- Following up on missing information from clients.
- Ensuring that all relevant project updates from clients are communicated effectively within the company.
- Overseeing the production of working drawings/designs per client specifications and adjustments made during the pre-order phase.
- Ensuring drawings are within the budgetary estimates and clearly defining construction methods, layouts, and materials.
- Guaranteeing all calculations are completed promptly to align with manufacturer delivery schedules and comply with company CDM procedures.
- Working directly with representatives to confirm any discrepancies between client specifications/drawings and tender documents. Reporting potential contract variations to quantity surveyors and submitting designs for internal review and client approval.
- Ensuring timely production of flashing schedules, procurement schedules, and cutting lists, providing adequate time for internal review and verification, and meeting manufacturer deadlines.
- Reviewing procurement, flashing schedules, and manufacturing documentation created by design team members.
- Supervising and evaluating the issuance of drawings and design information from other designers and trainees to ensure compliance with established processes.
- Maintaining daily logs of projects undertaken for weekly timesheet purposes.
- Overseeing the timely completion of operation and maintenance manuals.
- Assisting the Design Manager and all team members as needed.
- Moreover, the Employer may assign specific tasks to the Employee as required.
