Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role as an Alt-txt Creator based in Tiruchirappalli. The Alt-txt Creator will be responsible for generating alternative text descriptions for images, ensuring accessibility for individuals with visual impairments, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to enhance the user experience.

We are seeking a detail-oriented and creative ALT Text Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for creating accurate and meaningful short and long ALT text descriptions for a variety of digital content. Your work will play a crucial role in enhancing the accessibility and inclusivity of our digital platforms.

• Key Responsibilities

• ALT Text Creation:

Develop concise and descriptive short ALT text for images, ensuring that they convey the essential information.

• Create detailed long descriptions for complex images, charts, and infographics to provide comprehensive context and information.

Ensure that all ALT text adheres to accessibility standards and guidelines (WCAG, Section 508, etc.).

• Content Review and Quality Assurance:

Review existing ALT text descriptions for accuracy and effectiveness, making revisions as needed.

• Conduct quality assurance checks to ensure that ALT text is properly implemented across digital platforms.

Collaborate with content creators and designers to ensure that ALT text accurately reflects the visual content.

• Training and Best Practices:

Develop and maintain guidelines and best practices for creating ALT text.

• Provide training and support to team members on how to write effective ALT text.

Stay updated on the latest accessibility standards and best practices.

• Collaboration and Communication:

Work closely with the accessibility team, content strategists, and developers to ensure that all visual content is accessible.

• Communicate effectively with stakeholders to understand the context and purpose of the images.

• Qualifications

Proficiency in creating descriptive and concise alternative text for images

• Knowledge of web accessibility standards and guidelines

Experience with content management systems and digital media

• Strong attention to detail and the ability to work both independently and within a team

• Key Skills:

Exceptional writing skills with an emphasis on clarity, conciseness, and proper grammar, along with the ability to choose the appropriate vocabulary and sentence structure.
