Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop computer vision algorithms and models to detect, classify, and predict pests and diseases in agricultural settings from images and video data.
- Collaborate with agronomists and biologists to understand the nuances of plant, dairy, and poultry health issues.
- Collect and augment datasets with relevant images and video footage to train and validate models.
- Implement machine learning techniques to improve the accuracy and efficiency of disease detection systems.
- Optimize existing computer vision models for better performance in real-world, on-site conditions.
- Stay updated with the latest developments in AI, machine learning, and computer vision to ensure best practices in model development.
- Prepare detailed reports and presentations on model development processes, outcomes, and the potential impact on agricultural practices.
- Work closely with the IT and software development teams to integrate models into user-friendly applications for real-time monitoring and analysis.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, or a related field.
- Proven experience in computer vision, machine learning, and image processing.
- Strong programming skills in Python, and familiarity with libraries such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, OpenCV and Keras.
- Experience in handling large image and video datasets and familiarity with data augmentation techniques.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
- Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with both technical and non-technical teams.
Desirable:
- Prior experience in agricultural technology or a related field is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of cloud platforms like AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure for deploying AI models.
- Experience in developing and deploying models on edge devices for real-time analysis.
