Key Responsibilities
- Identify potential buyers for sales of Agri commodities; negotiate the price and other terms and conditions to the maximum extent in the interest of the company
- Maintain connection with all the market participants to collect market information and to have knowledge about all the market activities related to particular products.
- Maintain all the historical records of price and cost so that benchmarking can be possible as to the time, quality, and quantity of a particular product.
- Ensure contracts have been executed with the buyers as per agreed terms and conditions.
- Coordinate with the accounts team for the issue of invoices as per the contract condition.
- Also co-ordinate with buyer for Payment collection.
- Assist in the appointment of CHA and freight forwarders. And ensure timely clearance of goods at the destinations.
- Assist logistics team in identifying warehouses or tanks to store the imported cargo.
- Assist in local transportation of the cargo
- Ensure proper documentation.
- Responsible for growth of PNL in the region
Buying, marketing and selling
- Responsible for Agri Trading of the target commodities in the target sales region. (Container freight)
- Having complete control & responsibility for sales planning & execution of the sales planning (example; what grades to be sold, where to sell and how to sell will be planned & executed)
- Logistics & Supply Chain Co-ordination with the internal teams
- Daily contact with clients and suppliers.
- Using and performing market analysis to implement appropriate buying and selling strategy.
Relationship management:
- Must have an existing book of business in the target region.
- Maintaining and developing commercial relationships with suppliers and buyers.
Contract execution:
- Responsible for sound execution of sale and purchase contracts related to the assigned origins and commodities.
- Working within the finance framework: LCs & Documentary Collection
- Understanding Freight, chartering vessels, booking and the cost associated with physical Agri products
- Solid communication with and provide support for back-office and logistics team.
- Close liaison with origin teams.
Target Commodities:
- Bucket of Commodities: More than 20+ commodities including Sesame, Soybean, Raw
- Cashew Nut, Pulses and Oil seeds.
Experience:
- 15 years of relevant experience
Qualifications and Education Requirements:
- MBA from relevant education background
Preferred Skills
Good analytical and numerical skills with attention to detail.
Presentation Skills
Ability to manage existing client accounts and develop relationships with new clients.
Networking within the commodities world, including exporters, traders and the industry
buyers.
