Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Procurement & Contract Management:
  • Managing material & services procurement starting from PR until placement of PO.
  • Draft, review, and manage procurement contracts, ensuring legal and compliance requirements are met.
  • Monitor contract performance, resolve disputes, and take necessary actions for contract renewals and terminations.
  • Vendor Management:
  • Identify, evaluate, and manage vendors and suppliers, ensuring their capability to meet our technical and commercial requirements.
  • Negotiate contracts, terms, and conditions to secure advantageous agreements for the organization.
  • Technical Knowledge:
  • Possess a strong understanding of technical products, materials, and services relevant to our industry.
  • Collaborate with technical teams to define product specifications and requirements.
  • Cost Optimization:
  • Develop and implement strategies to optimize costs while maintaining quality standards.
  • Monitor market trends and industry developments to identify cost-saving opportunities.
  • Supply Chain Management:
  • Oversee the end-to-end procurement process, from demand assessment to order placement and delivery.
  • Collaborate with logistics and inventory management teams to ensure timely and efficient supply chain operations.
  • Quality Assurance:
  • Establish quality standards and performance metrics for purchased products and services.
  • Monitor and enforce quality standards, working closely with suppliers to address any issues.
  • Budget and Financial Control:
  • Develop and manage the procurement budget, ensuring compliance and cost-effectiveness.
  • Monitor and report on procurement-related financial performance and variance analysis.
  • Risk Management:
  • Identify and mitigate potential risks in the supply chain, such as supply disruptions or quality issues.
  • Develop contingency plans to minimize disruptions and maintain business continuity.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in engineering. Master's degree is a plus
  • 15 - 20 years, of which 8-10 years in Operations.
  • Currently based in Nairobi and handling Techno Commercial function for at least last 6 - 7 years.
