Roles and Responsibilities
Development of repair and inspection technologies process qualification industrialization. Related program deliverables to repair facilities for new and updated processes.
Lead the assigned hardware engineering activities bringing customer perspective to the team. Work along with team on other modules beyond assigned hardware and provide mentoring/guidance.
Answer technical inquiries and departure records from external airlines customer overhaul shops as well as internal GE shops.
Drive resolution to top in-service issues and on-time customer responsiveness burn down DR volume. Own Manual changes.
Has knowledge of best practices and how own area integrates with others; is aware of the competition and the factors that differentiate them in the market
Uses some judgment and has some ability to propose different solutions outside of set parameters to address more complicated manufacturing processes with technical variety and/or interdependent production cycles. Uses technical experience and analytical thinking. Uses multiple internal and limited external sources outside of own teams to arrive at decisions.
Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience. May lead small projects with low risks and resource requirements. Explains information; developing skills to bring team members to consensus around topics within field. Conveys performance expectations and may handle sensitive issues.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelors /Masters/PhDs in Mechanical Engineering specialization with strong academic track record.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in Aviation Engines or Turbo machinery Repair Product support Engineering (PSE) and / or Design activities
- Strong engineering problem solving capabilities
- Strong project management skills including cross-functional coordination of activities
- Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization both internally and externally
- Ability and willingness to travel as required u200B
Desired Characteristics
- Master Degree in Engineering
- Previous experience in repair development of aircraft engines
- Familiarity with MRO network
