Job Purpose
Working within the Admissions Team, the Admissions Coordinator will serve as a specialist point of reference for all matters relating to domestic student interviews. The role supports the College in recruiting and retaining students in compliance with relevant legislation, regulations, policies, and procedures. The Admissions Coordinator is responsible for conducting thorough interviews to assess the intention to study and suitability of applicants, ensuring the accuracy of the information provided. Additionally, the role involves a variety of administrative tasks, including sending offer letters, coordinating interview bookings with academic staff, updating CRM records, and ensuring all applicant data is accurate and up-to-date. This position requires both careful evaluation of applicants and the management of admissions processes to ensure smooth pre-enrolment delivery.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
Carry out structured unbiased interviews with applicants to verify the authenticity of the information provided in their applications including their suitability for the course.
The role holder will impartially interview applicants and maintain accurate and unbiased files outlining decisions and escalating more serious cases to senior management as appropriate.
Assess the consistency and credibility of responses given by applicants, cross-referencing with documentation, ID checks, and other evidence.
Thoroughly examine all supporting documents submitted by applicants to ensure they meet the required standards and are genuine.
Make well-informed recommendations regarding the ability and credibility of applicants based on interview outcomes and document verification.
Prepare reports on interview findings and maintain accurate records of all interactions and decisions, including uploading videos and updating relevant CRMs.
Ensure that all interviews and evaluations comply with relevant legal and regulatory standards.
Stay updated with the latest policies, procedures, and best practices related to admissions entry requirements and interviews.
Work closely with other departments, such as recruitment and sales to ensure a comprehensive approach to applicant evaluation.
Provide constructive feedback to applicants when necessary, explaining any issues or concerns identified during the interview process.
Ensures the delivery and continuous development of an effective and flexible service in a way that reflects the College's values-based behaviours and results in the efficient operation of the admissions team.
Undertake relevant training and professional development opportunities to stay informed of the latest admissions processes, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.
Communicate emerging risks and trends identified during the interview process to the wider admissions and recruitment teams, contributing to a proactive approach in applicant evaluation.
Carry out other administrative tasks set out by line manager this includes but not limited to the sending out of offer letters to applicants, sharing of interview bookings with academic staff and liaising on interview outcomes, work on updating CRM records and other data sets etc.
Deliver excellent customer service in all aspects of the role. Previous experience in interviewing applicants or working with students in a similar admissions or educational setting is highly desirable.
