In line with our business strategies and digital learning expansion, we are looking for a team of dynamic, creative and committed adaptive leaning engineers or designer to join us in Melaka, Malaysia, as part of our expansion team in Asia.
Position: Adaptive Learning Designer
This position plays a key role in building a growing Adaptive Learning portfolio, in a fast-paced project-focused environment. You will be reporting to Development Director Digital Learning who is based at the United Kingdom, work collaboratively and effectively as part of a wider team of learning designers and developers and subject matter experts (SMEs) from within, and out with the company (globally).
Job Function
The role holder is to design and build high-quality digital learning products, in line with internal and industry recognized design philosophies and processes. You must complete technology specific certification as an initial part of the role.
Job Responsibilities
- Analyse client/company materials and turn them into online/blended adaptive learning courses using proprietary technology and at times industry standard authoring tools
- Self-manage projects using Workflow tools
- Review work done by peers (designers/developers) and/or external Instructional Designers / Learning Designers
- Effectively communicate with learning experts and Subject Matter Experts to help translate business needs into learning outcomes
- Maintain motivation to develop personal knowledge and expertise in the area of adaptive, and wider, learning design.
- Undertake training and development as identified as relevant to the role.
- Reverse-engineering adaptive learning modules from existing courses and content, to client and company spec
- Developing new adaptive learning modules from the ground up, in alignment to client specifications and/or industry standards
- Collaborating with learning developers (media and motion graphic specialists) to convey, often complex, instructional design notes and thinking
- Liaising with SMEs to identify, capture and clarify required knowledge and theory
- Working with proprietary technology and tools, to build, review, publish and maintain adaptive module and course content
Job Requirements
- Possess Bachelor's degree (or higher) in a related/relevant discipline. Preferably in Education, Journalism or Mass Communication
- Possess strong communication and interpersonal abilities, ideally with familiarity of working with diverse range of SMEs.
- Ability to think critically to deconstruct large volumes of content into small measurable pieces
- Ability to understand how parts of information (from potentially unfamiliar subject matters) connect to and build on each other
- Ability to learn a new technology platform and adapt to ongoing updates/functionality
- Ability to prioritise and organise work in order to meet tight deadlines
- Familiarity with basic video, audio, and image editing tools and processes is an advantage.
- Familiarity with key Instructional / Adult Learning Design principles and methodologies.
- Fluency in written and oral English, with excellent writing skills and a high degree of attention to detail
- Comfortable receiving and applying constructive feedback and working on a rapidly developing platform.
