The Opportunity
Poppulo seeks an Accounts Payable Specialist to join our accounting team.This role is responsible for ensuring invoices and expense reports are processed timely, coded accurately, and that related month-end activities are completed accurately and on time. They will work closely with other departments to help manage purchase requests and purchase orders and to ensure issues are resolved promptly with our vendors.
Key Responsibilities
- Day-to-Day responsibility for the accounts payable activities, which includes ensuring invoices and employee expense reimbursements are processed/coded accurately, properly approved, and posted and paid timely.
- Route invoices for authorization where required, ensure actioned promptly.
- Review, reconcile, and post the monthly corporate credit card statements.
- Ensure employee/contractor expense claims are completed accurately in accordance with company policy and approved as required.
- Perform month-end duties, including open purchase requisition and purchase order review, prepare and post month-end expense accruals, prepare accounting schedules and reconcile accounts as required.
- Provide problem identification and resolution as needed.
- Work cross-functionally to resolve issues with employee expense reimbursements and vendor invoices.
- Other duties as requested by the Controller.
Candidate Expertise Required
- Position requires a minimum of 2 years experience working in Accounts Payable.
- Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Flexibility to work in an interactive environment with a tolerance for ambiguity and change.
- Ability to work effectively under tight deadlines.
- Proficient computer skills: Highly skilled in Microsoft products as well as ERP systems. Experience with NetSuite a plus.
