Job Title: Accounting Manager
Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and knowledgeable Accounting Manager to lead our shared services accounting team. The ideal candidate will have over 10 years of comprehensive experience in accounting, with a minimum of 2 years in a managerial role. As the Accounting Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the accounting function, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency in financial reporting and operations.
Responsibilities:
Manage and lead the accounting team, including hiring, training, and performance management.
Oversee the day-to-day operations of the accounting function.
Ensure timely and accurate preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP/IFRS and company policies.
Coordinate month-end and year-end closing activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, and financial analysis.
Review and analyze financial statements and reports for accuracy and completeness, identifying and resolving any discrepancies or issues.
Manage and optimize accounting processes and procedures to improve efficiency and effectiveness, leveraging automation and technology where possible.
Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including finance, operations, and senior management, to provide financial insights and support decision-making.
Liaise with external auditors and tax consultants to support the audit and tax compliance process, ensuring timely completion and resolution of audit inquiries.
Develop and maintain internal controls and procedures to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
Stay updated on accounting standards, regulations, and best practices, and implement changes as necessary to ensure compliance and operational excellence.
Qualifications:
Fluent English
10+ years of progressive experience in accounting, with at least 2 years in a managerial role.
2+ years of experience with SAP, with experience in implementing process improvements appreciated.
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
CPA/CA certification required.
Big4 experience preferred.
Thorough understanding of accounting principles, practices, and procedures, with expertise in financial reporting, analysis, and internal controls.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret financial data and provide strategic insights.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
Strong leadership and team management skills, with a track record of building and developing high-performing teams.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
Experience with process improvements and system implementations is a plus.
Knowledge of international accounting standards and experience with multinational corporations is desirable.
