Job Summary:
The Accountant is responsible for managing and reporting financial information for the company. This includes preparing financial statements, maintaining accurate financial records, conducting audits, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations. The role requires strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with other departments.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.- Ensure all financial reporting deadlines are met.
Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts.
- General Ledger Management:
Maintain the general ledger and ensure all transactions are recorded accurately.- Perform regular reconciliations of bank accounts, credit card accounts, and other general ledger accounts.
Ensure all journal entries are supported by appropriate documentation.
- Accounts Payable and Receivable:
Process accounts payable and ensure timely payments to vendors.- Manage accounts receivable and ensure timely collection of payments from customers.
Reconcile discrepancies in invoices and payments and resolve issues promptly.
Prepare and file tax returns, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations.- Assist in the preparation of tax provisions and reports.
Stay updated on changes in tax laws and regulations.
- Audit and Internal Controls:
Assist with internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation and information.- Implement and maintain internal control procedures to safeguard company assets.
Identify areas for improvement in financial processes and recommend solutions.
Conduct financial analysis to support business decisions.- Monitor and analyze financial performance, highlighting trends and variances.
Prepare ad hoc financial reports as required by management.
Ensure compliance with accounting standards (GAAP or IFRS) and regulatory requirements.- Maintain accurate and organized financial records for easy retrieval and review.
Collaboration and Communication:- Collaborate with other departments to gather financial information and support their financial needs.
Communicate financial information clearly and effectively to management and stakeholders.
Qualifications:Education:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
2-3 years of experience
Working Conditions:
Office-based role with occasional travel for audits or meetings as required.
