Responsibilities:
Financial Recording and Reporting:
Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including journal entries, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries.
Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, ensuring adherence to accounting principles and standards.
Financial Analysis:
Perform financial analysis, variance analysis, and reconciliation of accounts to identify discrepancies and opportunities for improvement.
Provide insights into financial performance and trends to support strategic decision-making.
Budgeting and Forecasting:
Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and forecasts, collaborating with department heads to ensure alignment with business goals.
Monitor budget performance, analyze variances, and recommend corrective actions as needed.
Tax Compliance:
Prepare and submit accurate and timely tax filings, including income tax, sales tax, and other regulatory requirements.
Stay updated on tax laws and regulations to ensure compliance and optimize tax liabilities.
Audit Support:
Assist in the preparation of audit schedules, provide documentation, and collaborate with auditors during internal and external audits.
Ensure that financial records and supporting documentation are organized and readily accessible for audit purposes.
Process Improvement:
Identify opportunities to streamline financial processes, enhance efficiency, and implement best practices.
Propose and implement improvements to accounting procedures and internal controls.
Payroll and Benefits Administration:
Process payroll accurately, ensuring compliance with wage and hour laws, tax withholding, and benefit deductions.
Coordinate employee benefits administration, including enrollment and reconciliation.
Cross-functional Collaboration:
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including finance, operations, and management, to support financial initiatives and strategic objectives.
Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (Masters degree or CPA designation is a plus).
Proven experience as an Accountant, with additional responsibilities for a Senior Accountant role.
Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, including advanced Excel skills.
Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and financial reporting standards.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with meticulous attention to detail.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
Knowledge of tax regulations and compliance requirements.
Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
