Red River is looking for an Accountant to address general business accounting deliverables and management along with supporting ongoing operational excellence, streamlining of business processes, enhancements to service delivery, and ensure the successful management of daily operational accounting needs for Red River internally and externally. As this role is 100% remote, the ability to effectively WFH is a must.
General Responsibilities
Daily/Weekly Review/Processing
- Review and posting of Accounts Receivable Batches.
- Processing and reconciliation of cash receipts (e.g. Lockbox, ACH, Credit Card) and customer deposits.
- Processing of Customer Cheque Refunds
- Preparation of AR Aging Reports and review of unapplied credits.
- Maintenance of master data including adding/deactivating items numbers, adding updating payments terms & salespersons and entering and extracting data from Great Plains.
- Management of accounts payable transactions including establishing new vendors and creating payment transactions
- Revenue Recognition maintenance including posting of liability recognition batches.
Monthly Reconciliation/Reporting
- Maintenance of fixed assets/depreciation/continuity schedules.
- Assist with Reconciliation and Reporting of Deferred Revenue including Professional Services and Maintenance/SAAS.
- Assist with Mthly Revenue Reporting including License, Professional Services and Maintenance/SAAS.
- Assist with Mthly Accrued Liabilities Reconciliation including AMEX accruals and Vendor Accruals.
- Account Reconciliation maintenance including Prepaid Expenses, AP/AR, Fixed Assets and Bank Reconciliation.
Ad hoc
- Serve as Backup for processing of monthly/ad hoc customer invoicing and customer inquiries.
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement, collaboration, and adaptability within Red River
- Willingness and ability to travel up to 25% for meetings, conferences, trade shows, etc. both domestically and internationally.
- Other duties as assigned.
Your qualifications, experience, and personal attributes
- The successful candidate will be talented, self-motivated, a quick learner and comfortable working in a fast-paced and evolving environment.
- Bachelor s degree or diploma in accounting, finance, or business administration preferred.
- 1-3 years experience as a general/junior accountant or similar role.
- Intermediate level MS Excel skills including formulas and pivot tables is required.
- Attention to detail, timeliness on delivering commitments, and the ability to multitask and prioritize.
- Ability to gather data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions, and propose solutions.
- Excellent analytical, written, and verbal skills.
- Thorough knowledge of basic accounting procedures.
- Knowledge of the Great Plains or ERP Accounting Systems.

- Experience in any of the following industries: C-Store Operations, Fuel Jobbers Operations, Point-of-Sale (POS) Software, CO-OP Operations, Fuel Station Servicing
