Accountant

Job Summary:

We are looking for a detail-oriented and experienced Accountant to join our team in Madurai or Chennai. The Accountant will manage daily accounting tasks, ensure accurate financial reporting, and support the company's financial operations. This role is essential to maintaining the financial health of our organization and ensuring compliance with applicable regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain general ledger accounts and prepare journal entries.
• Perform regular reconciliations of bank accounts, credit cards, and other financial accounts.
• Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable, including invoicing and processing payments.
• Prepare financial statements and assist with month-end and year-end closings.
• Ensure accurate and timely filing of tax returns and compliance with tax regulations.
• Track and manage budgets, analyze financial discrepancies, and report variances.
• Prepare and review financial reports, forecasts, and cash flow statements.
• Assist with audits and work with external auditors as needed.
• Update and maintain accounting policies and procedures.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Proven work experience as an Accountant, preferably in a similar industry.
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Tally, or Zoho Books).
• Strong understanding of accounting principles, tax regulations, and financial reporting.
• Advanced proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel.
• Excellent attention to detail, organizational, and analytical skills.

Preferred Skills:

• Chartered Accountant (CA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) qualification is a plus.
• Experience with GST, TDS, and other Indian tax compliance.
• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
