Job Title: Accountant / Company Secretary (CA/CS)
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Chartered Accountant (CA) or Company Secretary (CS) with 2-3 years of experience to join our finance team in Kolkata. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, a thorough understanding of accounting principles, and corporate laws, and the ability to work effectively in a dynamic environment.
Prepare and analyse financial statements, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies.- Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes and generate accurate financial reports.
Conduct internal audits to ensure financial accuracy and adherence to internal controls.- Liaise with external auditors and regulatory bodies during audits and inspections.
Manage and oversee all tax-related activities, including preparation, filing, and compliance with tax laws.- Ensure timely and accurate filing of GST, TDS, and other statutory returns.
Stay updated with changes in tax laws and accounting standards, ensuring compliance.
- Budgeting and Forecasting:
Develop and monitor budgets, financial forecasts, and financial models to support business planning and decision-making.
- Assist in the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts.
Perform regular account reconciliations to ensure the accuracy and completeness of financial data.
- Oversee accounts payable and receivable functions, ensuring timely and accurate processing.
Conduct financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for cost reduction and efficiency improvement.
- Provide insights and recommendations to management based on financial data.
Ensure compliance with all statutory and regulatory requirements, including GST, TDS, and other applicable laws.
- Implement and monitor internal controls to safeguard company assets and prevent fraud.
Leverage CRM software to streamline financial processes, enhance customer relationship management, and support sales and marketing activities.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records and databases.
- Conduct periodic reviews of financial processes and suggest improvements.
Provide financial advisory services to management and support strategic decision-making.
- Training and Development:
Train and mentor junior accounting staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional growth.
- Assist in training and mentoring junior accounting staff.
- Corporate Governance (CS-specific):
Ensure the company complies with statutory and regulatory requirements.
- Advise the board of directors on their legal and corporate responsibilities and matters of corporate governance.
- Secretarial Functions (CS-specific):
Prepare and maintain records, including minutes of meetings, statutory registers, and other corporate documents.
- Coordinate and attend board meetings, committee meetings, and annual general meetings.
- Regulatory Compliance (CS-specific):
Ensure timely compliance with filing requirements under the Companies Act and other applicable laws.
- Liaise with regulatory authorities and handle correspondence related to corporate governance.
- Legal Advisory (CS-specific):
Provide legal advice and support on corporate, securities, and compliance matters.
- Draft and review legal documents, agreements, and contracts.
- Qualifications and Skills:
- Certification: Chartered Accountant (CA) or Company Secretary (CS) certification is mandatory.
- Experience: 2-3 years of relevant experience in accounting, finance, or corporate governance.
- Technical Proficiency: Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting standards, corporate laws, and tax regulations.
- CRM Software: Hands-on experience with CRM software, particularly CRM, is highly desirable.
- Analytical Skills: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present financial information clearly and concisely.
- Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and attention to detail in financial reporting and data management.
- Organizational Skills: Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Team Player: Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
