Role Description
The Accountant will be responsible for managing the financial operations of the company, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards and regulations. This role involves maintaining financial records, preparing reports, managing budgets, and supporting strategic financial planning. The ideal candidate will have experience in the furniture and interior design industry, strong analytical skills, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Record Keeping:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries.
- Reconcile bank statements and monitor cash flow to ensure financial stability.
- Reporting:
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports for management review.
- Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for cost savings and improved profitability.
- Budgeting and Forecasting:
- Assist in the development and management of the company's annual budget.
- Monitor and report on budget performance, providing insights and recommendations for adjustments.
- Tax Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, local tax regulations ,TDS and GST is must.
- Prepare and file tax returns, coordinating with external auditors as necessary.
- Accounts Management:
- Oversee accounts payable and receivable processes, ensuring timely invoicing and payments.
- Manage payroll processing and related financial activities.
- Financial Analysis:
- Conduct financial analysis to support business decisions and strategic planning.
- Evaluate financial performance and recommend improvements.
- Internal Controls:
- Develop and implement internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure the integrity of financial data.
- Conduct periodic audits to ensure compliance with established policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- CPA or CMA certification preferred.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of accounting experience, preferably in the furniture and interior design industry.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero) and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy in work.
