Job Title: Academic Quality Head Paramedical
Job Summary:
To manage a team responsible for the delivery of high quality support to faculties and partners to ensure the effective implementation of the University's quality assurance and enhancement framework, in the context of best sector practices and changing external requirements with the ultimate aim of enhancing the student experience.
To lead the development of academic regulations, policies and procedures in line with PW strategy and sector requirements to assure the maintenance of standards and enhance the quality of the University's education and academic partnership provision.
To provide advice on complex matters, contribute to high level decision making in enhancing the quality assurance framework. This will involve providing a high quality service to all stakeholders, whilst improving efficiency and effectiveness of core University processes related to Skill Centers and partnership based education activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the Business Heads with the management, development and implementation of the University's education quality assurance and enhancement framework
- Lead the day-to-day coordination of academic projects related to learning, teaching and assessment (e.g. curriculum formation, content related projects, teaching observations, assessments, module performance reports etc.), including monitoring project milestones
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders as well as project collaborators to ensure projects run to schedule (eg Category heads, internal and external academics, HR, Business Finance etc.)
- To oversee the effective operation of the University's Quality Assurance and Enhancement protocols, to identify opportunities for enhancement, provide appropriate staff development for members and undertake evaluation of this activity and disseminate best practices
- To provide expert advice to faculties and partners on internal quality assurance, enhancement audit and review methodologies
- Identify issues, risks and lessons learned in the project plan and support decision making by developing options for possible solutions
- Provide regular and ad-hoc information, both written and verbal, to project stakeholders
- Work with academic leads and HR to recruit, onboard, monitor and quality assure content creators
- Coordinate end to end processes for academic content creation and review, including maintaining a tracking system
- Manage the copy-editing, proofing, consistent design, and migration of content to the relevant platforms
Qualifications & Experience:
- Educated to degree level or equivalent (Work experience will be applicable and can substitute for qualifications)
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work cooperatively and effectively with students, staff at all levels, and other business stakeholders
- Significant experience working at a senior level in a quality assurance role within the Education industry
- Experience of Healthcare quality assurance frameworks and requirements including partnership provision and review/audit methodologies is a plus
- Experience of Healthcare quality policy development and implementation
- Experience of liaison with professional, statutory or regulatory bodies in an education context
- Demonstrable proficiency in using databases or a records system to record and extract information to produce and analyze reports
- Experience of leading a team in a complex environment
- Experience in curriculum development and assessment is an asset
- Should be open to travel across regions where Skill Centers are located
