POSITION : Assessor

To lead specific academic functions, as an Assessor, to assess, mark and provide feedback to students assignments as per the qualitative requirements laid down by the respective Academic Awarding Bodies/ Universities. Implement all quality assurance requirements laid down by the Academic Awarding Bodies/Universities/Westford.

_Quality Systems_

It will be ensured that all qualitative requirements laid down by the Awarding Bodies/ Universities and the Westford Education Group requirements are fulfilled completely in terms of academic and administrative requirements, as well as within the time frames laid down by the Universities/ Awarding Bodies/ Westford School for all courses being conducted by Westford.

Quality of academic assessment and quality of students support will be given and maintained at all times.

Will be responsible to ensure that the external audits carried by the Awarding Bodies/ Universities are conducted smoothly by ensuring that all requisite documentation as per the audit requirements are prepared and produced meticulously to the concerned authorities.

Student Satisfaction_

Students satisfaction in academic and administrative functioning is extremely important for all Westford students.

It will be ensured that all students assignments are submitted on time and timely feedback given to them, as per laid down SOPs for all courses.

All grievances will be redressed as soon as possible for a student complaint or problem posed by him/ her.

A good relationship with the students will be established and all queries and clarifications should be addressed with regard to the academic assessment and administrative support being provided to him/ her.

Students satisfaction feedback will be taken after every course and it will be ensured that all action points are implemented in a timely manner.

Coordination Within & Outside_

Ensure that there is unhindered flow of lateral information with the nominated Course Leaders and Course Administrators with regard to the academic delivery of the course programs.

Ensure Effective Communications and a high level of Team Work while dealing with the academic staff of Westford at all levels, to resolve all work related issues.

Control and follow up with the Course Leaders of all courses with respect to delivery, any changes sought or students grievances during conduct of the training/ classes.

Close coordination with the corporate stakeholders, with respect to fulfilling their requirements and needs in an efficient and effective manner.

Coordinate activities and work closely with the Quality Assurance Manager to ensure that all internal quality processes are being implemented efficiently.

Coordinate internally with Westford staff to ensure smooth and streamlined conduct of all academic courses.

Core Responsibilities_

Ensure that quality systems and internal quality processes are implemented in true letter and spirit.

Act as a Supervisor for the under grad and post grad students doing their dissertations and project work, when given responsibility.

Coordinate smooth running and conduct of all courses within Westford with help of the whole academic team.

Report to the Trivandrum office as per the laid down times of work, and for conduct of all online classes.

Assist in the Internal Verification (IV) process of all the relevant MBA/ Pearson/ Other Short Courses assignment briefs, as well as of students assignments verification, as per procedures laid down by the institute.

Check all assignments given and provide feedback/ comments for each question, mentioning the good work done by students as well as the weaknesses observed within a time period of 3 days. If more assignments are there and extra time is required, the faculty academic support must get in immediate touch with the respective course administrator.

Feedback should be comprehensive without ambiguities by bringing out general points, as well as specific points which the students should adhere to while attempting questions, as well as specific comments on improvements required for the answer(s) submitted by the student.

The grades of the assignments should be given as per the guidelines given in the cover sheet. These can include remarks like Pass/ Fail/ Redo for MBA and short courses subjects, Pass/ Merit/ Distinction/ Fail/ Redo for HND subjects and even percentage marks for specific course subjects.

All assignments will be uploaded on Learning Management System (LMS) after the assessment, which will be then available to the (Internal Verifier) IV for his check.
  • Educational Qualifications:

MBA
  • Experience

Up to 5 years experience in teaching and assessment, while working in an academic institution.

Experience in academic and administrative functioning in an educational institution at a medium level as an asst. manager/ faculty/ administrator.
  • Specialized Skills

Excellent computer knowledge of MS Office and OS.

Ability to train other staff.

Excellent written and verbal communications.

Conflict resolution, interpersonal skills and problem solving abilities.
