Overview
The ABAP Developer plays a crucial role in our organization, responsible for developing and maintaining programs in the ABAP language to support SAP applications. They ensure the smooth functioning of various business processes by creating customized solutions and integrating them with existing systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, code, and test complex programs in ABAP for SAP modules.
- Collaborate with functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
- Debug and troubleshoot issues in programs and provide efficient solutions.
- Develop and enhance reports, interfaces, forms, and workflows within SAP.
- Participate in full lifecycle implementation projects, including analyzing, designing, and implementing solutions.
- Conduct performance tuning, maintenance, and optimization of existing programs.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration with various modules and applications.
- Provide technical support and guidance to end users and other team members.
- Stay updated with the latest SAP technologies and recommend improvements and best practices.
- Document technical specifications, unit test plans, and user manuals for developed programs.
- Adhere to coding standards, best practices, and compliance requirements in all development activities.
- Participate in code reviews and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
- Contribute to the development of technical architecture and design for SAP solutions.
- Collaborate with external service providers and vendors for solution delivery and support.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- 6-8 years of hands-on experience in ABAP development within the SAP environment.
- Proficiency in SAP modules such as SD, MM, FI, or CO.
- Strong knowledge of SAP development tools, technologies, and methodologies.
- Experience with SAP HANA, SAP Fiori, and SAP Cloud Platform is a plus.
- Excellent understanding of software development lifecycle and agile methodologies.
- Proven expertise in ABAP Objects, BAPIs, RFCs, and Web Services.
- Ability to analyze business processes and provide innovative technical solutions.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
- Certifications in SAP ABAP development will be an added advantage.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and handle multiple priorities.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality solutions.
- Knowledge of integration technologies such as SAP PI/PO or SAP CPI is desirable.
- Experience in working on international SAP implementations or rollouts is a plus.
- Good understanding of database concepts and SQL scripting for SAP HANA.
