Position: ITAM IT Asset Management Specialist / Technician
Experience: 3 to 4 Years
Roles and Responsibilities:
Asset Inventory Management: Maintain accurate records of all IT assets, including hardware, software licenses, peripherals, and accessories. Track the lifecycle of assets from procurement to disposal, including purchase orders, receipts, warranties, and depreciation schedules. Conduct regular audits and physical inventories to reconcile asset records with actual inventory levels. Submit and manage RMAs for return or exchange of equipment. Conduct inventory and provide weekly, monthly, and quarterly asset reports.
Asset Procurement and Deployment: Assist with the procurement process by coordinating with vendors, obtaining quotes, and processing purchase orders. Receive, inspect, and inventory new IT assets upon delivery, ensuring they meet specifications and quality standards. Coordinate the deployment and installation of IT assets, including hardware setups, software installations, and user configurations.
Asset Tracking and Monitoring: Implement and maintain asset tracking systems or software to monitor the location, status, and usage of IT assets. Monitor asset utilization and performance metrics to identify underutilized resources, optimize allocation, and reduce costs. Generate reports and dashboards to provide visibility into asset inventory, usage trends, and compliance metrics.
License Compliance and Software Management: Manage software licenses and ensure compliance with licensing agreements, usage rights, and restrictions. Track software installations, activations, and license allocations to prevent unauthorized usage and mitigate compliance risks. Assist with software asset management (SAM) initiatives, including software audits, optimization, and license optimization strategies.
Maintenance and Support: Coordinate maintenance activities, repairs, and upgrades for IT assets to ensure optimal performance and reliability. Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance for hardware and software issues related to IT assets. Liaise with vendors and service providers to facilitate warranty claims, repairs, or replacements for faulty or damaged assets. Maintains and develops process for check in and check out of loaned equipment.
Security and Data Protection: Implement security measures to protect IT assets from theft, loss, or unauthorized access, such as asset tagging, physical security controls, and encryption. Enforce data protection policies and procedures, including data backup, encryption, and secure data disposal practices for retired assets. Collaborate with cybersecurity teams to identify and address security vulnerabilities or risks associated with IT assets.
Documentation and Compliance: Maintain comprehensive documentation and records related to IT assets, including asset specifications, configurations, and documentation. Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, industry standards, and internal policies governing IT asset management, data privacy, and security. Participate in internal and external audits to demonstrate compliance with asset management policies and regulatory requirements.
User Training and Communication: Provide training and guidance to end-users on proper asset management practices, including asset tagging, equipment care, and reporting procedures. Communicate updates, changes, and best practices related to IT asset management to stakeholders across the organization. Foster awareness and accountability for IT asset management responsibilities among employees through regular communication and training initiatives.

Requirements
Bachelor's degree.
Previous experience working as ITAM specialist.
Must be familiar with IT Asset hardware and software, IP Networking etc.
Excellent troubleshooting skills.
Good communication and interpersonal skills, Must be able to work well with individuals at all levels, inside and outside of the IT organization.
Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel spreadsheets.
Familiarity with Microsoft Access databases is a plus.
Knowledge of asset management principles.
Experience with ITAM lifecycle.
